Tom Hiddleston will share the credits with Claire Danes, Hayley Squires and Frank Dillane!
This week, Apple TV+ featured in ‘The Serpent of Essex’ trailer, the series with Tom Hiddleston. It joins the list of premieres announced by the platform for the coming months. And finally, will begin on May 13.
Since its announcement, “The Essex Serpent” has become one of the most anticipated UK shows of the year, due to the anticipation of the 2016 best-selling adaptation of author Sarah Perry’s novel of the same name.
‘The Serpent of Essex’ will reveal the mysteries of Aldwinter
As already confirmed in the trailer the series deals with a story set in a fictional town which descends into madness as more and more people become convinced that there is a mythical beast lurking in the nearby waters. Although this time, Apple will also explore the complicated romance of its protagonists.

“The Serpent of Essex follows the journey of Cora Seaborne (Claire Danes) and her partner Martha (Hayley Squires) to the fictional town of Aldwinter in pursuit of Cora’s dream of becoming a paleontologist after the sudden death of her abusive husband. While the stories of the locations of a massive primordial serpent capable of causing earthquakes are alarming to most townspeople and have sparked a sort of collective paranoia, that’s precisely what draws Cora deeper. in the fabric of Aldwinter’s community, “beast from the black water” is part of what makes it so fascinating to the likes of the Reverend Will Ransome (Tom Hiddleston) and Dr. Luke Garrett (Frank Dillane). the more time Cora spends in Aldwinter, the more it seems her presence, along with that of the supposed beast, is having some sort of impact on the town that certainly seems otherworldly.”
Streaming platforms have changed the entertainment habits of viewers and the working habits of actors, with whom exclusivity is absolutely elusive. A) Yes, it is increasingly common to see the most famous actors in the industry bringing different characters to life in projects which come out almost at the same time from one platform to another. And Apple TV+ didn’t want to stay out of the game.
Tom Hiddleston joined this project in which he will play a priest, just months after finishing his work as earthy “Loki” in the series of the same name, broadcast by Disney+. And it won’t be his only project at Apple, he’s also been confirmed to star in the Apple TV+ Antarctic exploration drama “The White Darkness.”
