In Europe Smartphone usage is really high. It is very strange to find people who use simple phones or, even more, who do not use phones at all. The forms of communication have changed radically in two decades, and today sending messages or making video calls is very common.
For that Apps like WhatsApp have become very importantand in our country this application is not yet developed as in others like Brazil, where it is used to buy, send money or pay, among others. Currently, they are not only used to talk with a partner or friends, but they are also used for work.
This makes keeping a backup of chats is much more important than beforewhen all we could lose were a few months and old conversations. WhatsApp has a backup system locally and also in the cloud, using Google Drive, something that all Android users have, even if they don’t use it much.
More space for WhatsApp
The problem arises when a user uses the space of their Google account, for example with Gmail or Google Photos. In this case, it is essential to know how to manage the GB they give us, unless we are willing to pay monthly for Google One. If this is not the case, there is a way to ensure that the WhatsApp backup is kept, but. does not occupy space in our Google account.
This trick is very simple: create a second Google account. To do this, you need to go to the Settings from mobile then to section Google. We click on the email and select Add another account. When the login interface appears, click on the text Create an account and we follow the steps. For WhatsApp to use this new account for backup, you need to open the app, click on the three vertical dots icon in the top right corner of WhatsApp and select the option Settings. In category Cats you have to enter Backup copy. There we go to Google account. By clicking on it, you open a menu in which the accounts available on the mobile appear.
All that remains is to go to the Google Drive site with our main account and click on the gear icon from the top right corner. Then we will do it, Settings and In Manage applications, we are looking for WhatsApp. In this section you need to click on Possibilities and then in Log out of Drive.
