Apple released iOS 15.6.1 a few days ago. An update that apparently does not bring any news, but contains some small details of critically important for the security of our devices. Enough for us to update ASAP.
iOS 15.6.1 brings two major security improvements
We have already said several times that operating system updates contain much more detail and new features than can be seen with the naked eye. The attitude “iOS 15 suits me very well, I will not upgrade to iOS 16 for three or four months” it’s really dangerous
In version 15.6.1 of iOS and iPadOS, Apple fixed two important vulnerabilities. The first concerns the kernel, where an application can manage to execute arbitrary code with maximum privileges. The second concerns WebKit, the engine of Safari, where a website created especially for it could get code executed
Both vulnerabilities, according to Apple, have already been exploited, showing that need to update ASAP
It is yet another reminder that the security of computer systems depends on keep our devices always up to date. That’s enough? I wish. But at least when we see a new update let’s install it from Settings > General > Software update.
