Samsung has been working for years to improve the ecosystem of its products. The company’s catalog includes not only cell phones or televisions, but one can also find other appliances such as washing machines, air conditioners or refrigerators. They all have a great synergy between them which user can manage from the same place: SmartThings.
This application has undergone some very interesting changes in recent months, with the inclusion, for example, of a 3D map to see all our Samsung devices. A new update arrives on the Android version of the applicationand just below we will tell you all the latest news.
SmartThings is updated with more information and control over our home
This update, which brings the application to version 1.8.21.28brings some very interesting changes, although perhaps what stands out most is the new “Home Insights” feature. This, announced during Samsung’s last SDC, has a fairly clear mission: to show us all the important data from our smart home to see it at a glance. Thanks to this we will be able to know data such as energy consumption or indoor air quality.
Actually, “Home Insights” feature is enhanced with AIthanks to which it will offer us summaries and suggestions to help us have better management of all devices. Of course, the AI-powered summaries are only available in South Korea at the moment, although hopefully it won’t be too long before they reach the rest of the markets.
We will see another improvement to SmartThings in the “Routines” function, an ideal improvement for automating processes of all kinds. Thanks to the update we will be able to classify the routines as we see fit, thus facilitating their management. There is also another novelty called ‘Daily Routines’, with which we can give time conditions to each routine and thus avoid having several routines for the same thing (for example, turning on the lights in the morning and evening). .
The interface of the “Devices” tab also seems much improved. Thanks to the update, we will have more information and controls
Now the application will also allow us to have more direct control from the mobile panel on certain household appliances. This panel, already available for televisions or monitors, will allow us, for example, to turn on an oven without having to open SmartThings. Of course, at the moment it is only available for devices from 2024.
Finally, the update also brings something new that can save us some trouble. Thanks to it, if our favorite control device breaks down (either due to connection or power issues), we can have a backup with which to control each of the Samsung devices that we have configured in SmartThings. Without a doubt, a good assortment of new features that only improve the ecosystem of the South Korean firm.
