These are my favorite iPhone wallpapers and they’re not even official from Apple

Apple, Favorite, iPhone, official, Theyre, wallpapers

The years go by, we refine our iPhones and at Applefera we have recommended all kinds of wallpapers. We even tried windows full of widgets. But we always have a few favorites. My favorite wallpapers, the ones I downloaded when I moved from iPhone 14 Pro to iPhone 15 Pro.

If you also want to give your iPhone the look of a classic iPod, here are some options. Some are free, some are paid, some are designed for the home screen, and some only work for the lock screen. But they’re all a warm trip back to the days when we put our favorite songs on the iPod, iPod mini, iPod Classic, or whatever you had at home.

The iPhone wallpapers I always installed

There are many wallpapers. Official, fan-made, but none like this. They are all high definition and there are a wide variety of colors to choose from. It is true that we tend to look to the past because, from a social and emotional point of view, we have romanticized this stage.

But Apple and, more precisely, the captain of this section, Jony Ive, have been able to create designs that time does not pass by. I knew how to summarize complex ideas with simple executions, where conviviality was the basis of everything. But we leave that review for another time and go for my favorite wallpapers.

  • Classic iPod Wallpapers for iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Created by Luis Craik, for 2 dollars – or the exchange rate – you get access to three wallpapers like the ones you can see in the cover image. They are worth every penny.
  • Background pack for iPod. Created by Shane Levine, for $14 or the price in dollars at the exchange rate you will have access to a pack of 12 wallpapers and lock screens to make it look like a classic iPod.
  • The simplest and most classic iPod background. A free option that you can download directly from Imgur and save to your iPhone forever.
  • iPod Socks Wallpapers. I always keep my “socks” box for the 120 GB iPod Classic at home. So you can understand that feeling of warm nostalgia that comes with dressing up a current iPhone with this faithful recreation. The six backgrounds in the six most iconic colors are available for download directly here: Green | Purple | Gray | Orange | Pink | Blue.
  • GameBoy SP Advanced Wallpapers. And we end with the one that we already mentioned at the time and that is my absolute favorite. I have been using it for the whole of 2023. Created by Isa Pinheiro, these backgrounds revive the aesthetic of the most legendary clamshell Gameboy, including the limited edition with tribals. Up to 10 backgrounds and 3 based on limited editions. Even if he offers them, don’t forget to give a few dollars for his fantastic work which has almost 3,000 audiences and a 4.9 “rating” on Gumroad.

Of course, there are many others that imitate this style, but none with such a refined and aesthetically careful design. These are my favorite wallpapers and I wouldn’t change them for any others. Well, maybe Apple will surprise us in 2024, but no matter how hard they try with iOS 18, there’s nothing like getting back to the iPod Classic, even if it’s in emulation form.
