When Xiaomi presented its new operating system, HyperOS, in October 2023, it assured that it would be the platform that would unify its entire ecosystem of products, including mobile phones, tablets, wearables and even its electric car.
Since then, HyperOS has only gotten better and one of its biggest updates is HyperOS 1.5, which It has already started to reach the first mobile phones. The company revealed its new update for August and why it’s so important.

HyperOS 1.5 is, for Xiaomi, a major update for its operating system. This version will include significant changes in performance and will add some interesting features, but also, it is an important step until the arrival of HyperOS 2.0, the next version of the operating system which will be based on Android 15.
In the case of HyperOS 1.5, this version includes a better overall operating system response, It’s smoother and apps respond fasterThe update also brings new customization options, including a new, faster way to change the lock screen by holding your finger on the screen.
The new version of the operating system also optimizes the operation of many applicationsincluding the Gallery app, Calculator, Notes app, and Files app. Last but not least, HyperOS 1.5 fixes minor bugs in the Control Center, Status Bar, and Notifications, and adds a new Travel feature in widgets.
Updating to HyperOS 1.5 of began to reach the first compatible phones. This is a rolling update, meaning it will gradually arrive in more and more territories, starting with China.
