One of the great advantages of Android Auto is the quantity and quality of compatible applications. I have been testing them for years, both out of curiosity and for my work, which has allowed me to know their strengths and weaknesses, but also to find those that suit me best. What is the difference with the paid version? Basically, the latter allows you to download maps for offline use. In any case, it’s definitely worth it, especially compared to Google Maps, because it doesn’t complicate the interface so much with too much information, leaving what is relevant.
Fixed and mobile radars
The two apps above report speed cameras pretty well, but you never know. For this reason, I always have in the background “Fixed and mobile speed cameras” (this is the best trick for Android Auto that I have tried), a free application that warns before radars and fixed, mobile, section traffic lights with speed control thanks to its comprehensive database and community.
I love that it not only shows them the way, but also when you choose the route. Of course, as its interface is much less clear and neat than a browser, I always run it behind it.
ViMusic
Although I use the Apple ecosystem in my daily life, when I drive I prefer to take my Google Pixel and use Android Auto and one of the reasons is precisely the applications available. But if there’s something that makes the difference, it’s good Say goodbye to my free Spotify and Prime Music account and pull RiMusic.
The essence is the same as any other streaming music platform, but open source. So you can choose artists, radio stations or albums or create your playlists and start enjoying them, only without advertising and in a neat and intuitive interface since its musical base also exceeds 100 million songs, I find what I ‘love.
