As every year, during the Apple WWDC event, the new operating systems of the various Apple devices were presented: iOS 16, watchOS 9, macOS 13 and, one of the most awaited updates, iPadOS 16, the iPad operating system.
iPadOS 16 has brought updates based on multitasking and collaborative working methods that will make life easier for creative professionals.
Apple announced improvements in the Messages, Safari and Mail applications, in addition to announcing a new application called Freeform which will serve as a blank canvas for creative people or the long-awaited arrival of the Weather application on the Apple tablet.
With so many new features, it’s normal for you to wonder whether your iPad will be compatible with iPadOS 16 or not.

iPad models that will be compatible with iPadOS 16
Although it has not been confirmed yet, we can use the iPad models that are still compatible with iPadOS 15 as a reference and, in summary, we can guess that there will not be many iPad models left without iPadOS 16.
Below you can see the list of iPad models compatible with iPadOS 15, the previous operating system. Chances are the list will be very similar (if not similar) to iPadOS 16 compatible iPads.

Well, the developer beta is now available and the public beta is coming in the next few weeks. Please note that these versions are still test versions.
The official and final version of iPadOS 16 should arrive in September 2022, during the next Apple event.
