From iPadízate we have already had the opportunity to try all the novelties of iPadOS 16 and we wanted to put together a selection with the most amazing features of the next iteration of the firm’s iPad software with the bitten apple logo.
Apple’s software engineers not only worked wonders by completely redesigning many elements of the system, but also implemented iPadOS 16 very interesting functional changes. Do you want to know the most amazing features of iPadOS 16? Keep reading!
iPadOS 16 and all its star features
Exist a wide range of features in iPadOS 16 that will dramatically improve the user experience operating system on supported iPad models. So many features have been rolled out that in fact, even Apple representatives couldn’t mention them all at WWDC 2022. Here are the most important features of iPadOS 16.
Home app redesign
Apple has completely redesigned the Home app’s UI. There’s a new side menu, new wallpaper, and the panels for each accessory have been redesigned as well. On the other hand, it should be noted to indicate that to activate and deactivate the operation of accessories with iPadOS 16, this will be done by pressing the icon of each panel and not on the button itself, which will bring us to the advanced configuration of the home automation device.
Additionally, Apple has introduced a system of new categories of accessories so that users can more easily organize all the control panels of their HomeKit-enabled home automation accessories. Finally, a multi-camera view has also been integrated to provide a clearly visible display of images from all security cameras.
visual organizer
The inclusion of the Visual Organizer, also known as Stage Manager, was undoubtedly one of the biggest changes in iPadOS 16 and one of the most surprising features. This is a window management system which allows users to see a thumbnail preview of the contents of their open apps.
The app preview appears on the left side of the screen, and the feature can be turned on and off from iPadOS 16’s Control Center, as well as from the Settings app. In Visual Organizer will appear a maximum of 6 apps that can be grouped together to the taste of each user. iPadOS Multitasking Split View apps in a single window will also be accessible.
Unfortunately, Visual Organizer or Stage Manager will only be available on iPad models with an M1 or later processor. A very controversial and highly criticized marketing decision by many media and users.
SharePlay
Currently, SharePlay functionality is limited to using FaceTime only. We are talking about a function through which users can share the content of music, series and movies – as well as the screen content of their devices – in real time via a video call with friends and family. .
Now with iPadOS 16, SharePlay will also be available in MessagesApple’s native messaging application.
In addition, it was integrated game center with SharePlay, which now allows iPadOS 16 users to play multiplayer games in a SharePlay session.
Photos, live text and photo editing
As usual in recent years, the most spectacular functions came from the Photos application. While the app itself hasn’t received any design changes – the look of galleries, albums, and menus remains mostly the same – it’s packed a bunch of cool features into iPadOS 16.
First, with iPadOS 16 installed, users will have the fantastic ability to “copy and paste” the same photo edit in multiple images. In other words, they will be able to add the same photo editing to multiple images without having to do it one by one.
On the other hand, the Live Text feature in Photos has been updated in iPadOS 16 to incorporate the ability to pause a video to copy, translate and share text. Something that, until now, was limited to photographs.
Finally, another of the most wonderful features of the iPadOS 16 Photos app will allow extract a subject (animals, people, and even objects) from a photo by removing the background to share the resulting image in other apps.
And best of all is the procedure, because it couldn’t be easier and more comfortable. How do I extract the subject from an image? Merely keep your finger pressed on it. By doing so, the iPadOS 16 system will take care of highlighting and copying the resulting image, so you can transfer it to another app without releasing your finger from the screen. Magic!
Collaboration and other great features
Remember the iOS and iPadOS note sharing feature? This is one of the coolest features of the Notes app where multiple users can collaborate in real time to edit the contents of lists, projects, and personal notes.
Well, with iPadOS 16 these real-time collaboration tools are also coming to Pages, Keynote, Numbers and Safari. This way, you can collaborate on documents, presentations, spreadsheets, and tab groups. One of the most useful features of iPadOS 16.
But the thing does not stop there. There are plenty more scorching features coming to iPadOS 16! For example, in the Messages app, you can finally edit posts after they are sent and mark received messages as “invisible”. Additionally, the application Time received a major overhaul, the app Mail will allow you to program the sending of emails, the Handoff function has been integrated into FaceTimeSafari will receive a login function called Access keysthe toolbar (copy, paste, format) has a new animation… and much more!
