Temperatures are out of control, so much so that the heat destroys the iPhone battery. For this reason, it is time to anticipate its negative effects by applications that monitor the heat wave from the iPhone. We’ve chosen a few that show us a temperature map as well as a weather forecast, which will help us see where it will be hottest.
Applications to monitor the temperature during the heat wave
Weather apps are one of the most popular categories in the App Store. Although there are very good paid versions, focus on free, because what interests us is that they have a temperature map and nothing else. We have to warn that all of the ones we’ve tried require a somewhat tedious initial setup, but once done they’ll leave us alone.
They will ask us about the premium version, which we can remove. Also about our location, which we will only choose when using the app. Notifications in theory do not give us. And finally, we will ask the app not to track our activity. That done, we can get to work.
Windy: is our favorite app for heat map monitoring. As the name suggests, it focuses on w inds, but it also offers a temperature map and other variables. What we like the most is that it loads the map quickly and has a 10-day time horizon. The application is interactive and on the map we can see the direction of the wind at all times. Download them here.
The weather channel: A classic among classics, with this application you can do many things related to the weather. To check the heatwave, go to the Radar section and click on Layers to choose the temperature. From there we will be able to see the evolution of the temperature during the day in intervals of 15 minutes. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to see beyond today like with Windy. Download them here.
All of these apps will ask us to send us notifications, access our location, and track our activity. We must choose these options according to what interests us
Accuweather: This is another well-known option that many users are familiar with. This is another app similar to The Weather Channel in the sense that it is versatile. The part that interests us is the Radar, in which we will choose Temperature to see the heat map of the iPhone. Unfortunately, the map is static and only shows you the time of the request. In other words, we will not be able to anticipate the rise in temperatures as in the other applications that we have seen. Download them here.
WeatherBug: It’s not as well-known as other options, but this app has its uses too. When opening, we will click on Maps and make sure the temperature layer is chosen. Once chosen, the heat map and a small “play” symbol will appear. By pressing on it, we will see the evolution of this map in the last hour by intervals of ten minutes. It’s not ideal, but it helps to get an idea of how the temperature is changing. Download them here.
The heat wave also affects our devices. In fact, iPhone is also affected by heat. And you also have to protect the Mac from heat. With these applications and if we are planning a trip, we will know better what to expect.
