A surreal sale from a company that has already added the new 2022 iPad Pro to its systems.
An Australian operator has put on sale the new models of iPad Pro of 2022 and a consumer has already purchased a unit. This would generally be obvious and irrelevant news if it weren’t for the fact that the 2022 iPad Pro lineup hasn’t even been unveiled by Apple.
In theory, Apple will show off its new iPad Pro at a special event on the same day September 7 in one diffusion from Apple Park. But this is something that is not even confirmed. What we do know is that the firm with the Apple logo will present its iPhone 14 and its Apple Watch Series 8.
The current iPad Pro models with 11-inch and 12.9-inch screens launched in April 2021 and now the company Optus has put them on sale.
The sale of a non-existent iPad Pro
Operator Optus, as reported by Macrumors, has released the 2022 iPad Pro models in its internal stock system. Among them was a model of iPad Pro (4th generation) with 11-inch display in space gray color and 512 GB of storage capacity.
But Apple isn’t currently shipping any 11-inch iPad Pros. fourth generation. Yes, there is a fourth generation iPad Pro, but its screen is 12.9 inches. The most recent 11-inch iPad Pro model is the third generation and was introduced in 2021.
According to Optus employees, there is no iPad Pro 2022 in stock. But there are consumer orders that reflect the sale of iPad Pro models from 2022 instead of 2021. Is this a mistake or is it just to pre-sell the new Apple tablets? Is it a marketing strategy?
To one of the consumers who bought one of these “iPad Pro of 2022” and who from Optus mentioned that These tablet models would not arrive in stores for two weeks. We do not know if it is therefore really the iPad Pro 2022 range or if we are faced with a small misunderstanding. It can sometimes be a little confusing to identify which generation each Apple device belongs to, especially when it comes to tablets, as there are many different types of iPad such as iPad, iPad mini, iPad Air and iPad Pro.
Finally, it should be noted that the fourth generation iPad Pro models marketed by Optus they are priced higher than the iPad Pro 2021 models with the same storage capacity, according to MacRumors.
As for the latest iPad Pro news, it was recently leaked that Apple may consider implementing hybrid OLED technology in its future iPad Pro models, likely around 2024.
