The Opera “The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs” explores the underbelly behind the success of The Visionary, a tragic tale of a vulnerable human being who has undergone a brutal transformation from hippie idealist to a demanding tech guru.
This opera has been performed in major theaters and opera centers for some time, but now it will reach the calgary opera housemore precisely in the month of February 2023.

The performer who brings Steve Jobs to life as an opera singer is called Brett Polegato. Playing both protagonist and antagonist, his character contemplates the mortality of human nature and reflects on the turning points of his past. The opera was composed by Mason Bates and the theatrical scenario was written by the librettist Marc Campbell.
“The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs” created in 2017 at the Santa Fe Opera. Since then it continues and has even won an award grammys for the best opera of 2019.
