A few months ago, Google anticipated what would happen to its Pixel model catalog sometime in the fall, although it didn’t give much information about it. We would see the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro in terms of phones, a Pixel Watch in watches and a Google Pixel tablet in, logically, the world of tablets. We now know that the presentation will take place on October 6 and a leak revealed some of the tablet’s specs.
We now know, still unofficially because we are talking about leaks, that Google’s future Pixel Tablet will not be a small tablet. We are not going to find ourselves in front of a very handy 7 or 8 inch tablet, not even in front of a 9.7 inch or 10 inch tablet. No, the leak tells us nothing more and nothing less than 11 inches diagonal. But there is more data.
A great tablet for productivity
Knowing (again, nothing official) that we will find ourselves in front of a large tablet, it is not surprising to think that Google wants to focus it largely on productivity. Might be looking for a place where other models use Pro surnames. And that seems reinforced thanks to the fact that the leak tells us that the Pixel tablet will be compatible with a proprietary stylus. We don’t know if it will come with the tablet itself or not, but it will exist.
The leak also tells us that the Pixel tablet will use the first-generation Google Tensor. The processor that got on the Google Pixel 6 train last year and left them half a step from the top of the range, raising the photographic level considerably thanks to a dedicated co-processor. This brain will be chosen for the Google Pixel tablet, which will allow it to have more than enough power for almost anything.
We also think we know the memories, with a basic 128 GB version and a higher 256 GB version, and that in terms of connectivity we will have Wi-Fi 6 minimum. It is not known at the moment if we will have a version with 5G or not, since the chip chosen for the brain supports it, so we will have to wait. And yes, the Google Pixel tablet will arrive directly with Android 13 in its veins.
Regarding photography, it looks like we will have two rear cameras and a front camera for video conferencing, and that we won’t have GPS (so maybe there won’t be a 5G model) nor other sensors such as barometers or proximity. Thus, it would seem that Google will bet on productivity for a tablet that we should see presented in October and put on sale the same month. We will be attentive.
