Nearly five years ago, Pebble said goodbye to the Spanish market after being acquired by Fitbit. Although a long time has passed, there are still many users in Europe who own some of the manufacturer’s watches and want to be able to link them to their Android phone. Fortunately, there is an app that makes this possible.
Sideload Helper is the name of this app free that will allow users with a Pebble watch to connect it to their Android mobile. This way, you can use it as a normal laptop, despite the fact that these devices have not been supported for years.
Say goodbye to Pebble smartwatches: Fitbit on track to buy out the company
According to specialized media, Fitbit is finalizing the purchase of the Pebble brand and all of its patents around smartwatches. The mark would disappear.
Sideload Helper connects your Pebble watch to Android
Sideload Helper was developed by Alice Gray and Lavender Glaab of the Rebble project. This project and this application aim to extend the life of brand smart watches. Using this app, you can open .pbz, .pbw and .pbl files in the official Pebble app. For those of you who don’t know, this feature hasn’t been available in the original Pebble app for a while, prompting this duo to create Sideload Helper.
This app was officially launched in early February. In addition to allowing you to open these files, the application also manages the Rebble App Store Links
For users of one of the brand’s watches, it is presented as a great opportunity. This application gives the possibility of using this smart watch again, allowing it to be linked to your current Android phone. You can use it this way like any other laptop available.
Sideload Helper is now officially available on the Play Store, where it can be downloaded for free. Pebble watches have become a cult object, so this app will help bring it back to life.
