Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell conquer Apple TV+ with their new film!
When it comes to choosing which movies stream on the platform, Apple TV+ has had a list of hits. At the time, Greyhound and CODA were successful releases, but The Christmas Movie and “Spirited” broke all records. And there are several reasons for this.
Comedy featuring the fun duo of Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell deliver a new take on Charles Dickens’ classic Christmas Carol, in musical format
The timely premiere of Apple TV+ for Christmas
According to Apple, a month after launch, ‘Spirited’ continues to rank high on Apple TV+’s most popular list and still has time to grow over the Christmas period.
In this story, Ryan Reynolds is Clint Briggs. Will Ferrell plays the ghost of the Christmas present. In Dickens’ classic version, Scrooge is visited by ghosts from the past, present and future to confront his own morality.
But in Spirited, Briggs isn’t Scrooge and is actually there, and this time he’ll have to look within. Instead of focusing on the character of Scrooge, Spirited is told primarily from the perspective of the ghosts.
With Reynolds and Ferrell, Octavia Spencer and Sunita Mani round out the main cast. Spirited’s musical format features original songs by Oscar winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
