In the same way that there is the possibility of activating options for developers on Android mobiles without having to be, the same is true in TVs equipped with Android TV or Google TV. And it is that the latter, after all, is still a recommendation-oriented Android TV launcher, which is why the Chromecast with Google TV also enters here.
The steps to follow are not very complicated, although it must be said that it may not be the same in one system as in another. Not so much in the procedure, but rather in the menus and names each has, so we’ll separate each process.
New options for your TV settings
Still in line with what is found on mobile phones, the settings mode for developers on an Android television allows add configurations that do not appear by default. An example of this could be forcing debugging of USB sticks, as well as changing some TV color and brightness settings.
The steps to follow an Android TV pure are:
- open ‘Settings’.
- Come into “Device Preferences”.
- And one ‘Information’.
- Locate and click five times on ‘Compilation’.
On the contrary, a Google TVboth TVs with this system and Chromecast, you need to do this:
- open ‘Settings’.
- and one ‘System’.
- Now enter ‘Information’.
- Locate and tap “Android OS Build” five times.
Once done, developer options will have been enabled on both systems. You can find them in the ‘System’ section in both cases. Of course, try not to change any settings that you don’t know, because in the end these options are hidden so as not to cause any malfunction and to make the user experience as comfortable as possible.
I have to say that how to disable these options and that they do not appear in any menu is as simple as it is intuitive. You just need to re-enter these settings and disable the first option, which is called “Enable Developer Options”. You can turn them back on if you follow the steps you took the first time.
