Google has announced a series of new features that will arrive on our mobiles in the coming months in the fall update. Among them, Share with nearby, the Android AirDrop, will do a lot easier to share files with ourselves.
Currently, Share with nearby is available on mobile phones with Android 6.0 or higher with Google services and allows us to share files either with other people or with ourselves, without distinction. The big difference is that soon the system will be easier if we will send to one of our devices
From me to me
Share with Nearby East Android’s Universal File Transfer System. It is present on all mobiles with Android 6.0 or higher as a quick setting, in addition to appearing in the system sharing window. It’s pretty easy to use: you choose Nearby Share from the share menu, wait for the target device to appear in the list, and tap it. The other person must accept the send on their mobile.
The “problem” with Nearby Sharing is that it was true whether you shared a photo with your cousin or wanted to send a PDF from your phone to your tablet. Soon this will change so that we will see our own devices separately in the list, so we can send things to each other faster.
Not only will we be able to quickly locate the rest of the mobiles, tablets and Chrome OS where we use the same Google account, but the process itself is also simplified, because it is not necessary to accept the transfer
With this change, Google is looking to standardize Nearby Share for all sorts of uses, even for something as basic as sending things from one device to another. It must be remembered that this system does not use a specific technology, but the one it considers the best at this moment: Bluetooth, WiFi, NFC, UWB and WebRTC, and it can make transfers even without an internet connection.
