When it was announced two days ago that Google had already prepared another big name change so that Chromecast is now called Google Cast, the tech giant is already jumping straight into another big transformation and for it one of its already established “brands”: Discover, the news feed on Android phones.
Google is unique in this sense differentiating from one of the worst problems faced by large companies, which are generally very slow in their “moves”; The larger it is, the more complex and bureaucratic it becomes, and any major change requires coordination among different departments and teams.
This flexibility leads to a lot of confusion and every time he eliminates a service like Stadia or the change he’s proposing now, it’s safe to say he’s taking a lot of it the wrong way. And even more now that the Discover information source, this screen which appears with a gesture from the left side of the mobile, will be renamed.

Years ago, Discover was known as Google Now or Google Feed, which is why its new name was established. According to AssembleDebug in a tweet made in X (formerly Twitter), Google is already in the process of renaming its information source. AND This will simplify as much as possible
It should not be confused with Google Home, although it will be difficult not to, unless the tech giant make this space the central axis of your next mobiles; which would not be a crazy idea, since Microsoft Launcher in its latest update brought Copilot to the same place that Discover occupies on an Android mobile, the leftmost screen.
and the new tab
There is another important appearance– A new tab called “Browse” or “Explore” appears, which will display a large list of predefined search terms. The name change therefore seems to have an objective: to continue to improve this space where thousands of users come to find out about the following subjects.
And this isn’t the first time Discover has appeared renamed Home, according to Android Font, since at the end of 2023 a screenshot appeared where it appeared at the bottom. We will have to see Where Google is going with the move from the Discovery tab to Home and the new “Explore” in the bottom bar, especially for query terms that seem predefined and will continue to support searches from Discover just a few hours ago.
