Xiaomi has abandoned its traditional customization layer with MIUI 14, the latest version to see the light of day. Shortly after, it surprised everyone with the launch of HyperOS, which is its new “operating system” and which updates the entire portfolio of brands and models of the Asian giant. The first version was a very positive contact: His modifications really pleased him with renewed animations and a complete suite of tools.
Well, earlier this month, HyperOS 2.0, the natural iteration of this system, started to sound loud. Although most of the additions it will bring are unknown, it’s starting to get closer: POCO launcher update announces compatibility, and now Xiaomi has revealed when will beta versions start
HyperOS 2.0, a start for the end of the year as everything gets ready
According to information from our colleagues at Xiaomi World, which echoes what Xiaomi published on Weibo, the next version of the new operating system will arrive in a few months. More precisely, the internal tests will take place in the fourth quarter of this year.
In other words, between the months of October and December we will see HyperOS 2.0 being tested in beta on different terminals of the Chinese giant. This deployment of versions for selected users seems quite curious, since Xiaomi had never shared before schedule for stable and beta version.
Because yes: while users who test the HyperOS 2.0 betas send the back Xiaomi, the rest of us will also enjoy the features of this new version. Apparently, the company is looking for something new: develop your own software based on feedback
As if that were not enough, Xiaomi Times confirmed that on this occasion The list of compatible terminals will be expanded with trial versions. This way, more users will be able to anticipate the future by testing new features and functions. We are talking about interface and performance improvements as premises of HyperOS 2.0.
POCO Launcher is updated to support the next version
They also report changes in HyperOS applications for POCO mobiles. The case of the Xiaomi sub-brand is unique: it uses a specific launcher (or application launcher), which has little to do with the native one which has persisted since the extinction of MIUI.
I just updated, and while it doesn’t bring any relevant changes beyond bug fixes, it adds a distinctive feature that turns out to be a hidden clue: it’s pre-prepared to support HyperOS 2.0. This is confirmed in the changelog or changelog, announcing that POCO phones will work smoothly with upcoming Xiaomi software.
For now, here are the new features related to HyperOS 2.0, apart from everything we knew so far: this will be the first major update, it will be based on Android 15 (without excluding that it runs under Android 14 on other smartphones) and so we have the first list compatible mobiles. We will continue to wait for good news in a few months.
