It’s been known for over a year that Apple TV+ negotiated to create a series that would expand the so-called monsterback, led by Godzilla and other monsters that have appeared in the recent film saga. Now, a tweet reveals that the series is going to have a very special ingredient besides those monsters.
Sigmund Judge, Apple TV+ enthusiast and head of Screen Times, affirms that the series will be called “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters”. And the most interesting: is shot in spatial video format that take advantage of the Vision Pro.

The resurrection of 3D?
The half-hour demonstrations that some media were able to access at WWDC23 included a fragment of ‘Avatar: The Sense of Water’ in 3D video, several of the reporters who saw it said the effect could not be more realistic. If Apple TV+ exclusively offers content of this type, it can become a great advantage for them in the long term.
You could say that if the Vision Pro ends up creating a new market over the years, the 3D film and series format could finally come to us achieve what 3D TVs failed to achieve over a decade ago. Spatial audio would also be included, of course, making the Vision Pro even more appealing to movie fans.
Apple hasn’t confirmed anything about the Godzilla series yet, so that naming bet will be in doubt for a while. The series can also be enjoyed in two dimensions like the rest of the content, but if shot with ideas to promote the Vision Pro, it could see the light of day next year.
