Soon, the Pixel 9 leaks will end, for one simple reason: next week will be the official presentation of the new devices. But there is still time to “launch” a new leak, and this is one of the most important: real photographs of the devices, obtained in what appears to be a private presentation by Google.
Concretely, the device that appears in the photographs is none other than The Pixel 9 Pro XLone of the additions to the lineup that represents a major change for Google; and the company has decided to follow in Apple’s footsteps, forcing you to pay more for the big screen.
The Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL are expected to be very similar, if not identical; the difference will be in the size of the displays. The Pro model would be similar in size to the base Pixel 9, and if we want a similar size to the Pixel 8 Pro, it would have to be upgrade to XL model.
The photos, published by @MysteryLupin in This is also the first time we see this model under natural lightshowing more realistically what the mobile will look like when we use it.
Along with the photos, the technical details of the mobile have also been leaked, and the most surprising thing is that the display of the Pixel 9 Pro XL It would have a size of 6.8 inches.and not 6.73 inches as rumored so far.
It’s unlikely this is a last-minute change from Google, and previous leaks may have simply assumed that it would be based on the same display from the Pixel 8 Pro. Far from it, the Pixel 9 Pro XL’s display would be a significant leap forward in quality, with a resolution of 2992 x 1344 pixels and a peak brightness of 3000 nits.
The rest of the components match the rest of the leaks, including a Tensor G4 processor that won’t be very powerful and will be accompanied by 16 GB of RAM; Storage will start at 128 GB but can be increased to 1 TB as an option. On the camera side, the 50 MP main sensor is confirmed, accompanied by a 28 MP wide-angle sensor and a 48 MP 5x zoom sensor.
One detail that is surprising, although it shouldn’t be, is that the Pixel 9 will ship with Android 14 as standard, and not the new Android 15. We say that this shouldn’t be a surprise, since Android 15 is still far from being stable, as it is still in beta and the release candidate version has not yet been released, although it is expected throughout August.
As a result, the Pixel 9 will ship from the factory with the latest Android 14 updates and will be ready to be updated to Android 15 when it is released, possibly in September or October.
