Last March Google announced that from May the play store would stop offering films for focus on apps, games and books and exit the application GoogleTV as a new home for rent, buy and watch movies. Well, that date has already arrived.
About to say goodbye to this month of May, we see how the “Movies” section has already disappeared from google play. Movies can no longer be rented or purchased through the Google Play app for Android, but this doesn’t mean google play has stopped selling movies
10 GOOGLE APPS THAT COULD BE SUCCESS
Google Play stops offering movies on Android
google play stopped selling and renting movies on its Android app so the app GoogleTV now take over on our Android devices. Therefore the play store put the accent on apps, games and bookswhich are now the three tabs that now appear in the Play Store alongside the Play Pass tab for subscribed users.
Now if we want to buy or rent a movie on Google Play we have to do it from the application GoogleTV
The web version of Google Play retains the “Movies” tab so you can continue to rent and buy movies from your computer browser or mobile device because google tv doesn’t have a web version so they had to keep that section there so you don’t lose of sales.
Although the Play Store for Android has migrated its movie store to the Google TV app, users will no longer find any changes. Everything they could do on the Play Store, they can do on Google TV.
All content purchased from the Play Store is available in the Google TV app. Movies purchased from Google TV can still be shared with your family group. You’ll also earn Google Play Points for every purchase and use Google Play Credit for your purchases, as well as being able to use Google Play’s return policy.
