Samsung introduced the Galaxy S22 Ultra model on February 9, 2022 alongside the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+.
god knows i’m not android hateful and that I am the first to praise both the advantages of the operating system and the design prowess of its smartphones. In fact, to this day, I still think the hardware components of Android smartphones are more advanced than in the iPhone, it’s just that Apple offers more harmony between hardware and software for obvious reasons (fragmentation Android), though that’s a topic we’ll talk about another time.
I have tried time and time again to point out, in general, the elegance and distinction of the full-screen design of the latest generations of Samsung Galaxy compared to the continuous design of the iPhone. But in the case of Galaxy S22 Ultra I think Samsung failed. I cannot be silent. This is the exact definition of “horror”. I can’t even look at it!
Are we facing the most horrible design in the history of the smartphone? In my opinion yes
While the front of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra strikes me as a real achievement – beyond reproach – the ugly really comes when you turn on the phone and see the back with the system of up to four camera lenses, the more the flash, the more a sensor. looks like extraterrestrial. It gives me a little grima to be honest, or a little “cringe”as the young people of today say.
Where are we going to stop? Why this obsession of manufacturers to integrate more and more cameras? I don’t understand why it’s so important to sacrifice the visual aesthetics of a beautiful design (as it very well could have been) in favor of improving a camera’s pixels. It makes absolutely no sense.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 108-megapixel wide-angle lens, a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 10x optical zoom. Unsurprisingly, all of these lenses render camera images far superior to those of the iPhone 14 Pro Max and other competing smartphones, especially in low light conditions.
I emphasize that we are talking about purely a design issue. I don’t deny that the Galaxy S22 Ultra camera is probably the best camera in smartphone history and is capable of doing such wonderful things as this:
Th is is the professional camera more advanced
This strikes me as one of those memes that were circulating the web when manufacturers started releasing the first triple-camera smartphones in the market. Is trypophobia cases. Not to mention the built-in stylus inside the Galaxy S22 Ultra, which strikes me as something more typical of 2010 than 2022. What’s going on? I must have missed something…
On the other hand, Samsung has encountered many technical problems with the hardware of this terminal. The Galaxy S22 Ultra had an issue with screen flickering and pixel columns that affected devices with Exynos processors. Something that, together with the issue of design, also negatively affected its sales figures.
It goes without saying that it is purely my opinion and that, although the design of the Galaxy S22 Ultra seems to me to be a mistake, I totally respect that for other users its design is ideal for a smartphone with these technical characteristics. At the end of the day to taste the colors.
What do you think of the design of Samsung’s Galaxy S22 Ultra? Do you agree with me? Do you think this is such an awful design or does it not look so bad to you?
