The Android 15 rollout hasn’t been as fast as we would have liked, eventually reaching the Google phones that were once first. Not this time, but we’re already pressing them new features like “Private Space” or archiving applications that allows us to save space without uninstalling them.
Now, that’s not the only thing that’s been added to the Google Pixel. Personally, I updated my Pixel 6a and discovered that one of the flagship functions of the Samsung Galaxy S24 is available: “Circle to search” works its magic, with a finger you can circle something that the we looked on the screen to find it. AND can be activated
“Circles to search” are integrated into Android 15
We already knew that this function was going to come from Samsung to be found in the Google Pixel itself: the list of compatible cell phones expanded in the middle of the year with new guests. Among them are some of Google’s latest phones, although only so far integrates with the operating systemhaving a simple switch to activate it, or on the contrary deactivate it.
In addition, whether you have used it before or not, it is important to mention that it now has a new capacity: reading QR codes, making it more intuitive if we want to scan one that is on the screen of the mobile and not physically printed.
It also fulfills the task of recognizing images generated by AI, its possibilities have increased over time. It is not in vain that, since its launch at the beginning of the year, Google has given it other capabilities. Additionally, he wants to bring it to Chrome.
Back to what concerns us: Android 15 embraces “Circle to search”, dedicating a section in which to activate or deactivate the function. If you have a Google Pixel 6, or newer models, you have the function. And you might not have realized it: Google has a message welcoming this AI feature, but you probably missed it.
There is no problem: just follow the route that starts at “Settings” > “Systems” > “Browsing mode” > “Circle to search”. As you can see in the screenshots, directly in the section where we choose buttons or navigation gestures, a switch appears that allows you to activate or deactivate “Circle to search”.
As its description comments, once activated you can summon from any screen. A long press on the navigation bar and we will see this characteristic animation, then circling the element we want to search for is only a matter of seconds.
