After seeing the colorful lineup of new iMac M1s now available for in-store purchase, we’ve already asked ourselves a million questions: When are we going to see the high end of this iMac? Will it be sober and gray for professionals? It looks like we already have the first renderings that would support this hypothesis.
This time the person responsible for the leak was LeaksApplePro, who through the designer Id_vova has published renditions that are true to what the source might have discovered. It’s basically a bigger iMac, space gray, with reduced frames and a chin which is also smaller thanks to the dimensions of the computer:
Say hello to your very first look at the new iMac Pro.

The chin has been reduced slightly, although it is still present. The glasses are a little thinner and black. The entire body has a graphite / space gray color. pic.twitter.com/yjriG46DxH

The chip, which would look like an ‘M1X’ if we listen to the latest rumors, would allow this iMac to have 4 Thunderbolt ports and an Ethernet connection up to 10 Gbps (I suspect it will be Gigabit by default, with the possibility of an optional extension). Coinciding with these rumors, the chip would offer 10 to 32 cores in its processor.
Unlike the iMac M1, this port would be directly on the computer itself since its thickness would be enough to place it there (it would go from 11 to 15 mm)
I / O consists of 4 Thunderbolt ports and a 10 GB Ethernet port.
(At least the variant my source saw).
Apple is also considering adding an SD card reader to the right side of the iMac, but that’s not final. pic.twitter.com/C771uDenSb– LeaksApplePro (@LeaksApplePro) May 23, 2021
The price of this iMac would start at a price of around $ 2,500, which can mean around 2,700 dollars in Europe. Apple has already confirmed that it is not going to sell any computers under the name “ iMac Pro, ” so it must just be the top-of-the-line iMac.
Will we see this iMac at the next WWDC21? No. Apparently, Apple had to postpone the creation of this computer in order to be able to present the iMac M1 on time, which leaves this superior model in an advanced stage of prototyping that would require a few more months of development. Maybe we’ll see it in the fall.
What we’ve seen before is the chip in these upcoming iMacs equipped with the new MacBook Pro, which Mark Gurman believes we’ll see a launch in early summer. This corresponds to a presentation at WWDC21, which will take place in two weeks and one day. May be a good date to take this step, exactly one year after revealing the start of the end of Intel chips in Macs.
