This has happened to all of us. There is nothing more annoying than not being able to do anything else on our Samsung Galaxy while we have a YouTube video in the background or a song we just want to hear. You have the option to pay for the YouTube Premium subscription but the truth is that if you own a Galaxy you won’t need it.
A user interface lets you do other things while the YouTube app is open
The solution to this problem is the possibility that One UI offers to be able to have floating windows on the screen. You won’t even need YouTube’s native PiP functionality. You just need to follow a few simple steps.
To get started, you need to open the YouTube app. Once you have done this, you have two options. You can access the open applications screen, the one with the three vertical lines. Once there you can, well Click on the Youtube app iconwhich will open a context menu with several options, or hold down the app screenwhich will directly open the floating window.
If you are using the pop-up method, you will only have to choose the option “Open pop-up window“. After opening the pop-up window, if you pull the upper edge of the horizontal line displayed there, you can place the window in the desired location on the screen. Additionally, you can adjust its size by pulling the lower edge until you have it to your liking, being able to leave the window adjusted to the size of the video, forgetting all the superfluous content that YouTube shows below.
Below the floating window you will have the application you want or the desktop, and you can even adjust the two applications so that they share the screen, occupying it completely, by choosing “Open in split screen mode” instead of “in popup mode”.
If you then want to close the app, simply tap the open apps screen again and swipe up on the app you want to close (in this case, YouTube), or close all applications.
As you can see, nothing could be simpler, so if you didn’t know this tip, from now on, You won’t have to stop doing other things with your Galaxy while you watch a YouTube video or listen to your favorite music in the app without paying attention to images that don’t interest you at all.
