Google Photos continues to be updated to allow new tricks and experiences like Memories itself; for an application that offers a good list of features such as Magic Editor or blurring backgrounds on any photograph. Now it is after launching a feature inspired by Instagram Storiesalthough with its own, more personal touch while respecting privacy.
Five months ago, this feature called “My Week” first appeared in a few lines of code added to the Google Photos app. What at first It looked like a feature related to Memories
Google Photos isn’t a social network, but it’s getting there with some of the features it already offers, like sharing content with family members and the upcoming one. “My week” which is practically Some stories with a maxim: only selected users with certain skills will be able to see them.
Once again, AssembleDebug has found the feature in the latest version of Google Photos in a report sent to Android Authority. The important thing is that this feature is in a more advanced development phase than a few months ago, so its deployment could be approaching soon.
The screenshots show that My Week will appear in the app in a row at the top with a format similar to stories in the Instagram app for mobile. You can read “Introducing my week” with the avatar image and a + button to select the photos you want to display.
Once set up, you can invite other Google Photos users to view My Week and see all status updates in a familiar vertical format. They can also like and leave comments make photos more social; similar to Spotify’s new podcasts. My week will remain in the Memories carousel.
It was also found moved the activity sharing menu in the updates section and a small touch-up on the interface for the places section which shows the map with the ‘pins’ at the top right according to Android Police. It is not known when Google plans to roll out its “Stories”, but since it is a more advanced development, it may be very close and even more so on these ideal dates to use this feature.
