In November 2015, nearly five years ago, a handsome guy from Tim Cook presented a formidable threat with the launch of the first iPad Pro: It will come directly to the personal computer. Of course the server couldn't help but smile, and surely in some podcast you would have heard me hear that good Timmy out of the pot. However, looking at it from a perspective, I begin to think that what Apple said was that we were living in a state of change, that we would not come tomorrow, but it would eventually come. In fact, I think 2020 is certainly the year the iPad is retired from a personal computer, and all these reasons for that.
To put our vision into practice
Of course and as I mentioned before, I was one of the first to laugh when Tim Cook mentioned that the iPad would retire from a computer, and even though I had my own product setup for each Apple category, the fact is that if I had to bet on my MacBook or my iPad I would have seen it (refer specifically to "there"). However, this latest move and the fact that Apple has insisted on not letting the iPad's list die may have been an eye-opener for me.
In addition to continuing with a product that has dominated low sales hours, Apple has redesigned it by introducing different models, different capabilities, different sizes and above all different functionality. NOr be excited about it, coupled with the advancements in hardware, accessories and functionality that hitherto didn't mean a dream to those of us who use the iPad in the traditional way.
Price is no longer an excuse
The first iPad Pro was introduced at 899 euros, nothing more and nothing less. It was impossible to secure your purchase by focusing on a personal computer with iOS such as an app, an adequate number of accessories, limited connectivity and other features that made it actually a great and powerful iPad, without much. The story has slowly progressed to the modern iPad Pro, where we can even get USB-C … Who would we tell? However The real big moment comes in 2019, when Apple launches a 10.2-inch iPad input compatible with Smart Connector keyboards. And even with the built-in trackpad, now choosing a laptop before the 10.2-inch iPad (2019) is quite difficult.
This iPad has 32GB of base storage for 379 euros and of course the keyboard with a trackpad from Logitech starts from 149 euros, but getting discounts on the keyboard and iPad is common (I've been able to personally access your combination of both products 379 euros). Therefore, you can access the iPad with all computer restrictions at a price between 400 and 500 euros,
IPOS: Marks before and after
One big stumbling block was obviously iOS, This version of the program was primarily focused on consuming content, making life easier for us, but was a major impediment to the productivity of any user, Surely the iPad had never presented a threat to a PC with iOS as an app. With the advent of iPadOS we have a nearly complete hybrid between macOS in terms of communication and productivity, and iOS in terms of convenience and functionality.
Also, With iPadOS 13.4 it seems Apple was clearly the time to launch an attack and analyzing mouse-like functionality and user experience, iPadOS is now a mature program that addresses the issues that many users face on a daily basis. In fact, in my opinion iPadOS 13.4 can make the daily life of the average Windows 10 user much easier, leaving much unnecessary deductions and focus on what's important: Multimedia content content (apps are more productive), taking advantage of office features (and the entire Office Suite), create and edit content easily, installing computer changes daily.
From tablet to hybrid, iPad jumps
With the iPad you buy a tablet that can be a hybrid in one add-on, and actually interest rates increase due to the search for the comfort and convenience of those who do not have an extremely sophisticated work tool on their computers. You can watch your favorite series on the sofa with your iPad taking advantage of its high screen and the excellent sound it provides, quickly positioning the keyboard with a trackpad and managing those never-to-be-sent emails, making a series of notes and keeping up with Public Administration through its online platforms.
Of course the iPad still has a long way to go, Unless apps like After Effects, Pixelmator or Microsoft Office work hard to make their own versions of iPadOS, there are still plenty of tools and tools that work best for macOS that it's in IPOSOS, and as a result it's still too far to go, which is why the iPad will not completely bury the PC, but will handle a few of its users.
The PC will continue to have its place
As I mentioned before, the iPad does not attempt to bury the PC permanently, it will simply remove its place in the works, creating high-quality content and using it more. But for the home user it no longer makes sense to tie the laptop in price, durability, updates and software environment. This 2020 looks to be the year when the user will start to reconsider whether to buy an iPad or a PC, and that's been funny before.
