Apple is a company with almost 50 years of history. Half a century of computer creation gives a lot of nostalgia, especially when you see fully functional equipment decades behind. We chose these maqueros retro-setups for time travel and bring a wave of memories to our heads.
Maquera desks from the last century and this
Sometimes a stroke of luck allows you to get something you’ve been looking for for a long time. It happened to a Reddit user that he was behind a television that served as a monitor for his Apple IIe, the equipment that propelled the original Apple to fame.
Thus, on his birthday, this user fell on the perfect television in the trash for your Apple IIe. A General Electric 12XQ5122W model from 1984 that fits perfectly with the computer age and is also fully functional.
We travel a few decades back in time to stumble upon this meaningful turn-of-the-century Maquero desk. An iMac G3 accompanied by an iBook G3 and in between, a 10 GB iPod of the first generations. A Canon camcorder and an Imation external hard drive complete the package. The two Macs marked an era and allowed Apple to be reborn from its ashes, at the same time as the iPod put the company on the map of the general public.
Here we have an authentically old photo. The user in question finds himself in front of a bunch of Macs from this “era”, with two colored iMac G3s and an iBook G3. Although it seems like they are all his, he explains that he was actually set them up for loved ones (his was the iBook). The demonstration that those by computers are doomed to support the whole family.
Although barely visible, here we have a very particular maquero desk. An original iPod, another more compact, a shuffle over there hanging, an early generation iPhone and a PowerBook G4. So far the usual, but this PowerBook is hooked up to an IBM keyboard, a Microsoft mouse and a Philips monitor. All very heterogeneous.
Here we have a small museum, among which the author claims to have found a PowerMac G4 Cube with its matching “cube”, screen, keyboard and mouse. All this for only 60 dollars at a second-hand sale. For those who love relics, this is truly a treasure.
The iMac G4 is probably one of the most beautiful Macs of all time. And this user is lucky have it fully functional and with its official peripherals. Being in such good shape, you might not be interested in putting an M1 for a brain on your iMac G4 like that other maquero did. No matter how much M1 you put in it, it won’t be able to run Mac OS 9 as pictured.
The iBook was another culprit behind the return of the real Apple. And here we can see its unique hull design, running the then Mac OS 9. Perfect for replaying Sim City 2000.
The truth is that seeing these configurations and office maqueros, nostalgia enters one of them. Flashbacks to when Jobs brought the company back from the brink of bankruptcy. Recent history that many of us have experienced in the first person as users and from which you always find things that you miss.
