Google converts Google Maps is one of those applications that we always want to be on the main screen of the mobile. In Europe it is the most used GPS positioning and route application on mobile phones. But it has also become a rival to giants like The Fork, which are services used to find restaurants, compare reviews, etc.

That Google Maps focused on a kind of social network was new, but since then it has deepened this trend, without becoming something like Facebook. The priorities were clear: be the best search engine.

That's why it was important to be able to search within the app, not only to search for the name of a specific location or store to see their reviews and contact details, but also to be able to discover new places. It was becoming more and more common enter Google Maps without preconceived ideas and for that you needed a good search engine.

One of the lesser-known tools of this service are categories. Thanks to these it is possible to filter the different types of companies that appear in the application. To use them, you just have to open the application and drag the top bar, in which the texts for Work, Restaurants and others appear on the left. At the end of this list is a button called More.

If you press it, the full list of categories opens, in which we can search based on what we want to do. For example, if we want Eat and drink We can search for bars, restaurants, food delivery places or a place specializing in desserts.

Likewise, there are other sections, such as Do, Purchases Yes Services. Each contains more than a dozen options, which allow you to filter in detail. When we select one, the map of the area we are searching opens and new filters appear. For example, in the case of car charging stations, we can only display those that use a connector type or have a minimum speed.
