design and features
The size of the Trust Primo 20,000 external battery is similar to that of an iPhone 14 Pro Max, although thicker. This is not a battery to be carried in your pants pocket, but rather to be carried in your backpack, bag or suitcase. The plastic cover is very strong and has a good grip, and has a very discreet design with the same color all over the surface (in this case blue, also available in black and green) and the Trust logo which stands out at sadness. There is a button on one side to turn on the battery and see the remaining charge on the LEDs on the opposite side. The connection ports are all on one side, with two USB-A ports with up to 12W charging power and one USB-C port with up to 15W power. All three ports can be used at the same time, although the power will be split between three of them. We also find a microUSB to recharge the battery, although we can also use USB-C as an input to recharge it. In the box we find a USB-A to microUSB cable, we are missing a USB-C, a connection that at this point is already widespread enough to completely replace microUSB.
It’s a conventional design, but it’s still the most convenient design for carrying and using a power bank of this size. The large surface area allows good heat dissipation when using or charging, and the ports are all positioned on the same side, which is always convenient. Battery usage is what you would expect from a quality product with the safety measures one would expect when charging their devices. The battery heats up quite reasonably when in use, and charging your devices is stable without surprises. If you want to use the fastest and most powerful charge, you should use the USB-C port, although it does not reach the 18W required by the fast charge of the iPhone. The battery controls the power output depending on the device you connectso you can charge AirPods, Apple Watch, iPad or iPhone without worrying that too much power will reach it.
Editor’s review
Despite the fact that small and magnetic batteries for our iPhone are now in fashion, having a large capacity battery is life insurance when we are going to be away from home for several days without knowing if a socket will be available enough long time to charge all your devices. With its 20,000 mAh, this Trust Primo can charge your iPhone for several days, or your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and AirPods without any problem. Good materials, security measures and reliability are the characteristics of this external battery with a price that is also more than adjusted. You can buy it on Amazon for $39.99 (link)
