Twice, smart lights come on your Christmas tree

Christmas, lights, Smart, tree

Does anyone think of a better place to use the beauty of a bright light than to be on a Christmas tree? Color-changing lights, which we can control using our smartphone, which we can turn on and off … and again we can add advanced functions such as creating our own designs and animations, or changing the rhythm of music. All of this is provided by Twinkly and we show you this review of your first Christmas Tree kit.

The kit and everything you need

Twinkly offers us different lighting that suits different needs. We've got 150 lead stars, enough for an average tree like me, or up to 400 tree trunks for big trees They are not the same in any room. They also have some kits like "curtains" for lamps or garlands with lots of flowers. All kits are waterproof (IP44) so they can be used both indoors and outdoors, so anyone can enjoy your Christmas decoration.

All these kits are expandable, because they are all managed from the Twinkly app for iOS and Android and we can use different kits to illuminate the same tree, look like a single tea, or place them in different locations and make them all together or the pictures go together, with awesome results.

The installation process is as simple as installing a standard lighting kit. In fact, you won't notice anything weird on the Twinkly kit if you already have some common features. Everything you need is packed in a box: leading lights (in your choice), controller with manual control, and European connector adapter.

Control from the Twinkly app

Once the lamp is installed, we will do everything from our smartphone thanks to an app that we can download for free from the App Store (link). The Twinkly app will take us through the entire configuration process, very simple and completely directed, in addition to being translated into Spanish, which is very rare for this type of accessories. We provide access to the WiFi network, we accept certain permissions and we can continue to prepare pictures for our medicine.

Twinkly has started the process of scanning light bulbs using our very own and very simple smartphone. The Twinkly application itself scans with our smartphone camera for bulletproofing so that the images and design are just perfect. Although I had seen it in the videos, I was surprised to see how well it gathers all this information in those simple steps and how the artwork fits perfectly with my Christmas tree.

From the application we can select the drawings we want to use in our tree, with live view of the result without having to use it before. We have a good number of pre-installed results, but if it gets smaller, we can download many more for free completely. We can customize it by changing the colors, the speed of the animation … and we can also create our own effects, and watching them come alive as we make changes. The delay between what we do and what we see is almost pointless, which is really impressive what they found on Twinkly with this app. As icing we can even make animations move to the rhythm of the music.

It is currently compatible only with Google Assistant, with no news that it will be HomeKit or Alexa. The good news is we can place and close schedules, that images and designs vary over time, and that we have a button that we can change without the need for our smartphone. The app itself is not compatible with Shortcuts, but they've found ways to install it, such as the one offered by major Rafael Roa (@rafarq) on Twitter:
