The company Twitter Inc. has ceased to exist and this may mean a very important change in the Twitter application.
Since the takeover of Twitter by Elon Musk, many news and controversies have surrounded the social network. Whether it’s turning it into a payment platform or being a “wannabe” if you don’t pay. And now comes one more Twitter Inc., the parent company of Twitter, officially ceased to exist as it was taken over by X Corp.a company also owned by Elon Musk, according to Slate.
According to the information, X Corp. merged with Twitter Inc. on April 4. This in formation was revealed in documents from an ongoing legal case between Twitter and Laura Loomer.
In a court filing on Tuesday, April 4, Twitter Inc. quietly revealed a major development: it no longer exists. In a recent lawsuit, it was discovered that Twitter, Inc. merged with X Corp. and no longer ex ists.
What could this mean for the Twitter app?
We all know that For better or for worse, Elon Musk wants to revolutionize Twitter. There have long been rumors of a new app Elon Musk wanted to launch called simply “X”, a general-purpose app similar to WeChat used in China. From an Instagram-style social network to a full payment platform.
This merger not officially announced and it probably won’t have any immediate effect on the app or service, but it’s a first step. Elon Musk once said that Twitter would become “the all-in-one application” and could compete with other platforms.
We don’t know if the purpose of X Corp. is to turn Twitter into this “app for everything”, but it is certainly a step that makes us indicate that many more changes are coming to Twitter. Of course, despite the change and the merger of the two companies, for the moment the Twitter application continues to function normally.
Elon Musk has been long attached to the letter X. In 1999, he founded X.com, an online bank that merged with another company to become PayPal. And that’s not to mention one of Tesla’s cars, the Model X, or SpaceX, its aerospace company. We now have a new company with an X in its name taking over Twitter, we’ll see where that takes us.
