New information from Korea claims that Apple’s first foldable and Face ID under the screen will arrive until 2027
According to information from The Elec, there would have been a conference on screen in Koreaan event that repeats itself year after year. The important thing is that they addressed important issues regarding screens and Apple is involved in this issue. Omdia Kang Min-soo revealed that those in Cupertino will have foldable devices and Face ID under the screen, although with a delay. These devices would not be released until 2027 at the latest.
Apple’s first foldable and Face ID under the screen without Dynamic Island until 2026 and 2027
It is relevant to know that those from Cupertino are working on major developments for their iPhone. It was previously revealed that the iPhone 16 Pro could have Face ID under the screen. Additionally, foldable devices are being planned between patents and prototypes.
According to senior market researcher Kang Min-soo, The iPhone 17 range could have a foldable device and until the iPhone 18 Pro we will see a full screen without Dynamic Island. Specifically, he stated that the device the bend will be 7 to 8 inchesmaking it the largest iPhone size in history.
The panel of the iPhone 17 series would be LTPO TFT in all four models and therefore must differentiate each of them, as it has done until today. In additional data, it is expected that the iPhone SE 4 which will be launched in 2025 will have an LTPS TFT OLED panel.
Would it be an iPhone or a foldable iPad mini?
We still don’t know the design of the screen front of the future iPhone without Dynamic Island. Those from Cupertino were going to surprise with this next year, it will surely be like that to avoid recurring failures. We know that Apple prefers to wait almost eternity before reporting a deficiency or breakdown of its devices.
The foldable iPhone which would measure up to 8 inches indicates that it would become an iPad mini. It would be very strange if it equaled the iPad mini in size, if that is the case, the latter would have a reason to cease to exist. If it reaches this size, will Apple need to reconsider the iPhone’s operating system? You need to take full advantage of all the screen space. For example, it would be a failure to launch this type of foldable device without allowing two applications to be available at the same time, as is currently the case on an iPad.
Oddly enough, it is one of the first time we talk about a new source since Kang Min-sooin his role as an Omdia researcher, has no history on Apple rumors. However, The Elec was the one who was able to get closest to the source on supply chains on a level almost similar to Ming-Chi Kuo’s best moments.
If Apple decides to launch a foldable, will it be the likely goodbye to the iPhone Pro Max as we currently know it?
