Samsung's decision to make its Galaxy S20 series this year is very different than the way it was made last year: instead of the youngest in the family, Samsung Galaxy S10e, this year the company is betting on everything in the big Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, unfortunately it didn't meet expectations.
So Who owns the gap left by the Galaxy S10e? I'm afraid that this work falls into Samsung Galaxy S20, the smallest – and least expensive – model of this family, which we finally managed to spend time on, enough to decide whether it meets expectations from the Galaxy S series model in mid-2020.

Best Samsung Galaxy S20
Its design and screen
The last time I used a phone with the same size as the Galaxy S20 was last year when I was able to analyze the Galaxy s10e. And I have to admit, for a while, I ignored it how big are today's phones.
Using the Global S20 has been a relief to my arms, which after a long time held a a phone that weighs only 164 grams -Approximately 60 grams less than the S20 Ultra-, and the height is only 15 inches. It's noteworthy that it doesn't have a 14-inch height and 150 grams of Galaxy S10e, but considering the panorama's shape, the S20 is a full-blown desert full of big phones, and it's appreciated that when using a case -Someone is probably tied to this mobile: it's one of the most awesome places I've ever tried – its size is just not funny.
Also, without differences in size, The g20 galaxy is such a mobile phone the premium just like all other models in this family. It cares aluminum chassis molded on its sides, as well as a curved glass in the back that makes it a more comfortable device to hold. In this sense, moreover, Samsung seems to have heard our prayers and decided Get rid of – but not completely – the curves behind the deadly screen, by giving the S20 a flat front, in the same way as last year's Green S10e. It is not perfect, but it is certainly a success in this regard, and it leads to a fine balance between modern aesthetics and usability.
Samsung seems to have heard our prayers and decided that they have largely taken out the curves on the side of the screen.
And right show It is one of the forces of this deadly force. Not the fact that it is the smallest or cheapest terminal in the family has led Samsung to downplay this feature. Exactly the opposite
We're talking about the same panel Dynamic AMOLED with Quad HD + resolution and 120Hz refresh rate we already have on the S20 Ultra, though in this case the diagonal is reduced 6.3 inch. However, the format of reducing beams and holes in the mirror located on the front, housed by the device's front camera.
Using this screen is just fun. The refresh rate, which is double the price offered by Samsung last year for the Galaxy S10 series models, means a excessive smoothness and fluidity when navigating the system interface, you switch between using or performing scroll in lists and web pages.
Though that's not the only thing that makes the Galaxy S20 such a great screen. The color distribution is accurate – as long as the "natural" color mode is set, not the default Vivo "- viewing angles and brightness levels go well, and this year Samsung is offering a A sampling rate of 240 Hz, resulting in low screen latency and, therefore, a higher reaction speed.
Of course, not everything is perfect: other than providing a screen with high-quality features, Samsung prevents its full use, and it is not possible to use a 120 Hz refresh rate combination with the high resolution provided by the panel traditionally. So, unlike what happens with other models like the OnePlus 8 Pro, the S20 lets you choose between high fluidity or high resolution.
Performance and the whole experience
As with all the wonderful endings introduced in 2020, the Galaxy S20 has a repertoire of details made by some of the cutest. Among them is the Exynos 990 5G processor, a my cousin's cousin Snapdragon for Qualcomm 855 – excellent in comparison to its original performance-, added to 8 or 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and internal storage for 128 UFS 3.0.
The combinations of all these elements combine into good performance with a multitude of conditions, and end-to-end offers another quick and mobile experience for Android who you are trying to date. In addition, the fact that having a 5G connection adds up to some points, although given that most smartphone users still live in areas that are not covered, or that they are customers of operators who have not yet made an instrument for this type of network. a 4G version of the Galaxy S20, less expensive but with less autonomy, would be a more interesting option.
Samsung's software is in the most mature stage so far.
It helps this good performance that Samsung software, One UI, is in its most mature state to date. In version 2.1, performance is better than beforeultimately catching up with other layers of customization provided by the competitor depending on the structure of consistency, performance and durability.
Almost all of the novelties imported by the One UI 2.1 were already available on the Galaxy S20 Ultra, so I don't see the need to duplicate everything we've already talked about in the Ultra model. Of course it's nice to say that, in the end, Samsung uses an effective touch system, it inherits directly from Android 10, which makes managing this mobile phone even more comfortable.
Now, as I have already mentioned in my analysis of this expensive model of this family, and will continue to repeat, at least, until Samsung decides to change its renewal policy, I consider it an easy one unacceptable that only 909 euros are introduced in mid-2020 alone 2 years of OS renewal guaranteed, much as Samsung has developed the frequency with which it has updated its end in recent years.
The worst with the Samsung Galaxy S20
Your independence
The difference between the Snapdragon 865 amplifying the American system – and many others – of the Global S20, and the Exynos 990 model I was able to test, might not be as good as it depends on the performance or the overall experience. But there are many, and many, of subjects efficiency.
Looking at others reviews of a terminal like that of The Verge or Android Police, I couldn't help but be surprised to see how independence is spoken of as one of the strengths of the signal. To my knowledge, I'm afraid this is not the case, not even very close.
Shifting to the fact that independence is a very different category depending on individual consumption habits, I should say that The Global S20 is one of the worst battery systems I've tested this year, not being able to achieve full day use with more than 4 screens on the screen.
Of course, since I found the terminal, I have kept 120 Hz active all the time, but I think this means reducing the panel resolution by default, and that OnePlus 8 Pro has been able to give me maximum independence, I think Mediocre effects are enough which means independence as one of the few weak points of this device.
Possibly, those people who decide to keep the 120 Hz off – lose, in my opinion, some details that make this model special compared to other competitors – enjoying the right independence
These are Samsung Galaxy S20 cameras
In addition to size, the main difference between the Galaxy S20 Ultra and this model is found in it category of images. And the fact is I'm not clear that the changes made by Samsung are worth the expensive model.
Lead configuration is a 12 megapixel resolution camera, the figure is much lower than the 108 megapixels of the model with Ultra's last name. It is a sensor with ƒ / 1.8 aperture and optical image stabilizer, compatible with a 12 megapixel wide angle ƒ / 2.2., and "telephoto" … not so much.
As was discovered some time ago, 64 megapixel sensor and ƒ / 2.0 aperture used by Samsung in this S20 – and in S20 Plus – to allow 3x hybrid zoom and 30x digital zoom, in fact sensor with a smaller viewfinder than a larger camera -76º compared to 79º–, but the higher resolution has a larger sensor, using different algorithms to find what Samsung calls the "hybrid optical zoom", even though the "optical" component is only 1.06x.
In addition to technical differences, the same functions we have already received on the Galaxy S20 Ultra are saved such as the new "Single Capture" mode, which allows photography using many different modes integrated in the camera. Included in 8K video recording – one of the reasons why a 64-megapixel sensor was needed – at 24 frames per second, and certainly the ability to use a third sensor to capture images at 64 megapixel resolution, however yes, for a lower field view than for a larger camera.
But ahead, there are also changes regarding the S20 Ultra, because we now have one same 10 megapixel camera It was already available on last year's Galaxy S10 series models.
Date, drawings and night mode behavior
Just look at its data sheet to find out Samsung has chosen a spectacular formula when developing a photographic system for the Galaxy S20. And as I've already anticipated, the fact is that the results are not the same as expected when looking at the differences between the two configurations.
Big 12 megapixel sensor, is bigger than last year, allows kidnapping vivid and detailed images, both during the day and in areas with minimal light. It's no surprise that the Galaxy S20 Ultra & # 39; s-108-megapixel sensor produces more detailed photography when conditions are on your side, but focus on problems and some discrepancies in relation to the wide range of action The Galaxy S20 camera is over-imagined, and consequently easier to control.
At night it is greatly appreciated the large size of this sensor, because its ability to emit light on the scene is very high to other competing cameras. In addition, "night mode" is included that, besides getting to the level of the best players in this case, does its job well.
Its biggest problem remains exactly the same as the Galaxy S20 Ultra, Note10 +, and Galaxy S10, and all smartphones created by Samsung in recent years: as soon as the face enters the scene it will catch on
The most interesting thing is that, as was the case with the Galaxy S20 Ultra, these features disappear to a large extent when "Pro" mode is activated and take pictures without switching to default mode. The pity is that most device users won't use this method.
Sensor Ultra range The 12-megapixel camera allows for capturing great quality photos, which is standard for the Galaxy S20 Ultra. Not so in the case of zoom in on images, because in the absence of an actual "telephoto," the data loss is noticeable as it goes through the tripod barrier. However, the results that can be obtained from this range are correct.
It's good too image mode, and the depth sensor the Galaxy S20 + has and the fact that this shortage is missing is nothing; the cut is straight and the background is more blurred or less natural, but also the face based on the characteristic is noticeable.
Front camera
The 10-megapixel front camera has the same issues with the rear, but still good results are possible. Not as much detail as in the case of the Galaxy S20 Ultra, but good enough, especially without or when the light is good.
Video recording
Where Samsung shows a chest is compared to other competing models in the video segment. Not only that, because of course, it is one of the few cell phones on the market that can capture video with 8K resolution, but also attributes.
The image quality is excellent, and the durability system does its job well – the "superstable" mode is also included, although the terminal can reduce vibration well enough by default. The audio quality of the capture is also good, and includes the audio zoom mode introduced by Samsung and its memory models from last year.
Samsung Galaxy S20, Andro4all's vision and final thoughts
This year, Samsung has tried to attract all eyes with the Galaxy S20 Ultra, there The true gem of the S20 family is very small, and costs 450 euros. The Samsung Galaxy S20, in my opinion, is the most recommended model for all who make up the latest generation of Samsung phones, both in size, balance between hardware and price, and by providing a seamless and trouble-free graphics system. the first generation that offers all the technology included in the classic model of this family.
Price and where to buy Samsung Galaxy S20
Galaxy S20 models can be purchased from the day of launch. It is possible to get it through top Spanish retailers, as well as in stores like Amazon, where variations other than 5G connectivity – in my opinion, highly recommended – can be achieved with attractive discounts that make it a device. it's more attractive than it really is.

The Green S20, even with its shortcomings, is probably the most attractive and balanced model of the three that make up this family due to its size, hardware / price and image performance. |
