Nothing, based in London (UK), has become the fastest growing mobile phone brand in the world, with Europe one of its key markets. The company stands out mainly for its bet on products offering good value for money, and for its bet on a transparent design for its devices, as can be seen in its smart phones Nothing Phone (2a) or Nothing Phone (2a) Plus or your Ear (1) and Ear (2) wireless headphones. An aspect which is also transferred to Ear (open), its first open headphones which are very pleasant to wear.
While many manufacturers are committed to seeking the best isolation with their headphones, Nothing still surprises with its new Ear (open). Wireless headphones that have a price of 149 dollars and seek the opposite: they are designed to listen to music while letting in sound from the environment so that the user can be aware of everything that is happening around them without compromising the audio and without having to stop listening to their favorite song.
In other words, it is a product similar to the Huawei FreeClips, but with a completely different design. At EL ESPAÑOL – El Androide Libre we have spent several weeks using the Nothing Ear (open), wireless headphones that offer a particular appearance, but are very comfortable to wear and have. great autonomy and good sound quality. In addition, since they are open, they are interesting to use on occasions when we do not want or cannot isolate ourselves, but not so much for everyday use.
Different and very comfortable
Open-back headphones are a format that is gradually gaining market presence, but which represents a challenge in terms of design. At the moment different models have been seen, such as those mentioned by Huawei, which resemble earrings. In the case of the Nothing Ear (open), these have a particular and striking appearance. They are on headphones that fit around the ear thanks to a flexible stick shaped like a silicone “hook” and featuring a plastic tip at the end with a metallic finish.
A tip that acts as a counterbalance. For his part, the earphone does not come into contact with the inside of the ear canalbut is supported and located between the helical root and the tragus of the ear. Thanks to this, the company’s headphones let outside noise through so that the user is aware of what is happening when listening to music. It also offers great comfort, it even gives the feeling of wearing nothing.
Add to that the fact that the headset only weighs 8.1 grams and can be adjusted to any ear shape and size, this perhaps makes them one of the most comfortable headphones on the market. And during long sessions, they do not bother and are barely noticeable; Although there have been occasions when we took them off and felt the sensation of still feeling the cane and the tip behind our ear. Likewise, and being “hung” behind the ear, it should be noted that they do not fall, making them ideal for going out and doing sports.
They even have an IP54 rating, so they’re water and sweat resistant. The Nothing Ear (open) too They maintain the transparent design of the brandas well as its charging case. A charging case that has a thickness of only 19 millimeters and a length of 12.5 centimeters, so it is thin, but a little large, which makes it less comfortable to carry in your pants pocket; although they can fit perfectly into a backpack or bag.
To hear everything
The main appeal of Nothing’s Ear (open) is its open design, designed to fit into everyday life. And these headphones allow you to listen to music and any outside noise. to keep an eye on what’s going on
