For many years Samsung introduced the two models of its Galaxy S. last year made little difference by announcing the Samsung Samsung S10e, a signal that fell into the highest category but did not share all the functions of the older brothers. .
But in 2020 we saw the defeat of terminals being introduced, led by the already-tested Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and compatible with the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus as well Samsung Galaxy S20. Today we're reviewing the last one, which is probably the smallest Android phone (with all the letters).

One size fits all, both good and bad
On the days when I've been testing this model, as always, it's a unique and special mobile phone, I've had a chat on Twitter with many people, including Anna Martí from Xataka and Carlos Santaengracia from Tops de Gama.
The reason for the discussion has been the size of the current phones, something of particular importance related to Apple's introduction of the iPhone SE 2020. The question is that before that sermon I started testing the Galaxy S20 too I felt loved in all aspects it is too small.
Yes, it's a 6.2-inch signal, but the 20: 9 ratio makes it much higher than a phone like the Huawei P40 Pro or OPPO Find X2 Pro. That is, it is smaller than it should be with this diagonal, which de facto reduces its size.
The size is probably the best, and worst, of the mobile. If a user is looking for a terminal with excellent features but with a very small size, I am already developing that this is not only a good option, but the only one.
Personally, I must admit that although I really like the idea of being able to carry it comfortably, I've come to realize that this is not the end for me: I play too much on my mobile to be comfortable with a screen like this. size. Well, I do adjust, as comfortable as I like, because it has never been a hassle to stay 2 weeks with this mobile.
As for the design, Samsung has been pretty conservative, but at least it has brought a different color touch to the terminals. This model is available in purple, pink and light, which is the color of the unit they gave us.
At the back is a camera module with three sensors, a microphone and an LED flash. The upper frame has dual dual SIM or SIM and Micro SD audio and microphone cancellation audio. At the bottom we have a main microphone, a large speaker and a USB charger C. The left side is empty and the right side is a power button and two volume buttons.
The aesthetics of this signal, as I say, are very reassuring but have the same details its small frames and how big it is to handle with one hand which makes it completely different. And this is covered by weight 163 grams, so low that it takes us back to a time when cell phones were something else.
Also details such as a MicroSD card or water resistance are stored in the IP68 certificate.
Performance is not the best, but it is good
As in previous years, Samsung has decided to use their Exynos processors on the Glass S for sale in Europe. This makes the model we analyze useful Exynos 990, a high end processor with 5G technology and plenty of power, but that can't compete with the Snapdragon 865 when we take it to the limit.
This I've especially heard playing Honkai Impact Third, which I could enjoy without any major issues but it didn't give me the sense of speed it could give me at the terminals via the Qualcomm processor.
Fortunately, we can't say the same about RAM. We have 12 GB, a figure equal to or greater than its predecessor. Of course, 128 GB of internal memory looks good somehow not so much for the price but for the price of this model.
When a cellphone starts from 909 euros, it would be expected that we do not have the long-term capacity of internal storage. We believe that at least 256 GB should work. Yes, it's true that if we need it we can use microSD, but this should not be an excuse.
The fact that a cellphone close to 1000 euros has two speakers, something is already mandatory. The Samsungs are compliant with this category, and they do that on a note, for this the best sounding phone I've been able to test in a long time, at the height of his older brother, with whom he shared the speakers.
The remaining specifications are similar to the ones we have in other style phones, with faster Wi-Fi, NFC mobile payments and an on-screen fingerprint sensor that works much better than I can remember on the Samsung Galaxy S10.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 has a big screen, with a … smaller design?
If only a few years ago we had been told that the 6.2-inch screen was a signal we would consider smaller, it certainly would have been laughing. The high-end mobile diagonal has been growing every generation, and the 6.9 inches of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is the culmination of this, at least for now.
If I were to summarize this mobile with a comment it would be youngest And I know it's weird, but the feeling it gives me after trying more than a dozen calls this year.
This is also the fault of the S20 & # 39; s radio show radio, some longer than usual, though without reaching the edge of the Samsung Galaxy Fold's external screen.
But the best part is that the company does not compromise the screen performance of this model, something we see in other manufacturers. We continue to maintain a OLED panel with 3200 x 1440 px resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.
We have to add the highest brightness and versatility to technology HDR 10+, which makes optimized videos look their best. We have said many times that this technology is more worthwhile than a repair or restoration rate, although the problem is that it is useful for movies and series made for it.
And we must not forget that as with the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, this Galaxy S20 has flat screen, which has a very small curvature on the sides that makes it comfortable to use but does not impede the experience or create contact lenses, which will attract more users.
These are the three cameras we've been waiting for … or about
Samsung has for years been one of the best Android phone manufacturers to have as OPPO or Huawei managed to win it in several stages. By 2020, the company was committed to developing this feature, and that in part explains the change in hiring.
Though the most advanced camera is limited to the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, the Galaxy S20 and S20 Plus have also seen a rejuvenation of the rear sensors they offer.
We currently have a large 12 Mpx sensor, wide angle with the same resolution as the 64 Mpx telephoto lens with no Optical zoom, the last being one of the things that caught our attention.
The company chose from this model not to use a lens of light or a periscope zoom, but to use a high-resolution sensor and crop the final image. This is not what Optical zoom is all about, even though quality is achieved.
Image quality of the primary sensor We really liked giving us the right colors and good control of the shadows, which are not too dark but also really light. In short, it is a wonderful feeling.
Although we do not have a very large sensor or software mode to simulate, we do not believe this is a problem or a cellphone of this phase, as very few users will use this other than in the first week. The closer we take to photographing the quality the better.
In the application of wide range We can emphasize that the color balance is very similar to that of the large sensor, as well as the final quality, which has little detail, but not less. In some shots the color temperature is slightly cooler in the wide angle than the sensor angle, but you have to set it aside to detect it.
We complained about the lack of zoom light on this mobile, but we won't say zoom what is already used is bad. If we take a good look it gives us the impression that the images are a little slower than we would expect from a magnification sensor, but the quality is quite good and it seems that the software used by Samsung is able to add a bit of a lack of visual function
Of course, when we increase the zoom to 10x, the quality goes down enough that we don't want to use those images, and if we do it directly at 30x, we don't even make the images.
Probably one of the things we liked most about this model is its quality night pictures in all three senses. It's one of the few times that I don't have to make the wide angle quality not go away from that main sensor when we take pictures at low light. Yes, it is true that the flex range management is not that high in the wide angle, but it is one of the sensors of this type that I like the most of the ones I've tested.
The same thing happened to front camera, 10 Mpx, which gives us great selfies during the day and is able to investigate some common mistakes in this type of photography when taking photos at night.
Even split back into night images we get useful images, though they obviously don't have the same quality as we took during the day. The feeling is the same as I have had on the wide angle, which I hope most travelers behave like this.
Regarding video, We have to highlight its good quality and the effort that Samsung has made because the use of its system when recording reduces (without fully implementing it, of course) details such as sensor jumps when zooming in to record. Also, the stability is perfect and the colors are really good. Yes we can record in 8K qualityBut right now that's still a marketing claim. By the way, we took a look at one of the best Android phones that records video in low light.
We also liked the video recording of the front camera, reminding us of Huawei's performance and from 8, as well as OnePlus. Excellent color, realistic skin and most of all the stability that allows us to record while walking without a problem. Of course, here we see that the quality drops noticeably when we record at night.
Independence is okay, but within normalcy
Not surprisingly, more cellular content means less battery space. Despite that 4000 mAh Samsung Samsung S20 looks to us a good figure to be the smallest of the three models.
The the fast charge is 25W and Samsung didn't want to uninstall wireless charging with its smallest model, something we think is bigger.
To first battery test We optimized the screen with FHD + adjustment and 60 Hz refresh. We've been playing and using standard communication programs, such as WhatsApp, Telegraph or Twitter. We reached 4 hours of screen time with 24 hours of independence.
To second battery test We optimized the screen with FHD + adjustment and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. We've been playing and using social networks, but we have also taken pictures, listened to podcasts and made a few video calls, one of which is over 45 minutes long. We had 4 small screen hours with about 20 hours of independence.
To third battery test We optimized the screen with a QHD + solution, which is maximum available, and leaves a refresh rate of 60 Hz. We played, learned a lot and even edited videos. We have slightly exceeded 4 hours of screen time with 19 hours of independence.
As you can see, autonomy is one of the weak points of this model, but it's not too bad to dispose of this phone with this feature. However, the feeling I've had is that, in normal everyday use, I would prefer especially not to reduce the screen quality, to try to achieve it at the end of the day.
Not very new to the connector
As for the interface we don't have much new to say because Samsung has been using one UI in its models for one year. Yes, this is the latest version, but we don't see any major changes to it.
Google Discover installation on computers is lacking, as was recently made by OnePlus. At least we would like to be able to disable the Bixby section that appears in the left pane of this.
The same thing happens with the power button, which works with the Samsung voice assistant when we leave it pressed. Fortunately this can be changed, or it automatically comes as this.
On the positive side we have to emphasize the explosion and good layout that allows us to customize the tool with icons, background or themes.
It should also be remembered, for those of you who are working on a mobile device, that this model is compatible with the new Samsungung Dex model, which requires no add-on, HDMI only to the USB-C cable.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 is the only option you can make when it comes to size when it comes to size
It is clear that this model is designed for those who use the terminal as small as possible, still on a smartphone with a large screen.
Either autonomous or functional or cameras are probably in the top 3 on the market, however the weight and ergonomics that make this mobile phone worth it.
When it comes to recommending buying this model, it seems like there is a good choice if we like it over all sizes and it's clear that we are looking for a great finish.
Of course, between € 909 for the 4G model and € 1009 for the 5G model we are obviously betting on the former, albeit from 12 GB to 8 GB of RAM.
