Currently, the Android Beta program has two versions in development. On the one hand we have the development of Android 13 and on the other hand the development of the June ‘Feature Drop’ of the Google Pixel, allowing Google its users to test beta versions of future updates.
Last week, Google launched the third beta of Android 12 QPR3 for its Pixels, and as usual the company hasn’t announced any news beyond a list with bug fixes. Well, today we just discovered that a feature removed in Android 12 will revert to current version of the operating system, at least in Google Pixel.
Bring vibration icon back to status bar
Since the first version of Android released in 2008, the operating system always showed the vibration icon in status bar of the device, thus informing the user that he had activated the vibrations, but this changed with the arrival of Android 12.
Among all the novelties of Android 12 was the Vibrate icon disappearing from status bar. Android 12 stopped showing up in the status bar if we had vibration enabled, it only showed up if we had the mobile in silent mode. With the arrival of Android 13 Beta 1, it was leaked that Google was planning to put the vibrate icon back in the status bar, but now we know we don’t have to wait for that release.
Android 12 QPR3 beta 3 the vibrate icon is now back in the status bar. Google Pixels updated to said beta can now bring said icon back to its status bar. By default, Android 12 QPR3 Beta 3 does not show the vibration icon, but Google added a new one toggle to show vibration icon in status bar.
In Settings > Sound and vibration we find in Android 12 QPR3 Beta 3 the new option ‘Show icon in vibrate mode’. After activating it, we check that the vibration icon returns to our status bar as it happened in all previous versions of Android.
