We cannot deny that we live in an era of subscription services. That if Netflix, Spotify, Amazon … there is less money a user can spend at the end of the month. Surprisingly, we talked about this a few weeks ago in our weekly podcasting and finally realized that signed up for a lot of resources we really don't need.
For all of this we need to add newer platforms such as Google Stadia, Xbox Game Pass, Apple Arcade or GeForce Now. Multiplayer subscription services that allow us to enjoy big titles pay very little and even though they are very popular with users, they give developers a headache.
Video game developers are worried about the increase in subscription services
We read it in Business Insider digital medium and can't deny that industries like cinema or videogames do not focus on subscription services. This allows users to pay a certain amount and enjoy non-infectious content.
Now, what is a rewarding goal for the consumer seems to be not so much for developers and managers. In the case of video games obviously,Why do I pay 60 euros for a video game if I pay 10 euros for a subscription service that I can play with another 100 titles?
The developers say that these kinds of new policies will end the sale of traditional videos, which also means fewer benefits for creators. In addition, the developer who wanted to remain anonymous, told Buster Insider directly that while content platforms initially required video game companies to attract customers, and once they are loved they will no longer be needed.
And the worst comes later, because if a consumer already pays for a subscription service they won't pay for a video game, so the developer expires because he's on the platform and they cannot sell their articles in the traditional way. Of course all of this is happening to computers and computers already happening with platforms like Apple Arcade and we have no doubt that it is disappearing with Google Stadia and Android.
In any case, engineers are aware that times are changing and that they must adapt. They say that they have to make sure that they get the benefits otherwise. It certainly does not taste good for everyone. While we as end consumers appreciate being able to enjoy such a great videogame – and film – thanks to these subscription services, Content creators look like they have to adapt to the environment … or disappear.
And you, prefer to buy in the traditional way or choose to pay for a subscription service?
