The next Apple Watch update we’ll see at WWDC in June will, for the first time since launch, bring a major overhaul of the user interfacewhat users have been asking for a long time.
No major hardware changes to the Apple Watch are planned this year. Last year it introduced the Apple Watch Ultra, a new larger Apple Watch with a sportier design, also featuring new straps specifically designed for a larger case than the “normal” Apple Watch. In 2024, rumor has it that there could be major changes to the Apple Watch, with new microLED displays and even an Apple Watch Ultra with a larger display. But This year, what we will have seems to be a simple internal update to the Apple Watch with battery life improvements, maybe a new sensor and nothing else. At most a new color for the Ultra.
With all that, it looks like Apple wants to make watchOS version number 10 big, and for that, according to Gurman, it will introduce the most significant interface change since Apple’s smartwatch launched. Ten years have passed and maybe the time has come for a new design in what we see on the screens of our Apple Watch, and perhaps the time has come for one of the biggest user requests to see the light of day: the Sphere Shop. If you want to modify the clock interface, what better way than to do it from the home screen with spheres created by the developers.
To confirm this news from Gurman we will have to wait until June 5when WWDC 2023 begins and Apple introduces us to watchOS 10, in addition to iOS 17 and macOS 14.
