Whether you use Android Auto or just use your mobile as a trip computer in your car, Waze is one of those apps you have to install no matter what, although you probably already have it installed.
[Los equipos encargados de Google Maps y Waze se fusionarán, las apps seguirán siendo independientes]
Although it was bought by Google, the Waze app thankfully continues to stand on its own, and we say that because while Google Maps is also good for drivers, Waze is still unique in many ways.
Dangerous road warning in Waze
For example, the latest development that the Waze team is working on is very interesting, because it uses the large amount of data from its community to detect the most dangerous roads and warn us when we are going to take one.
Instead of just relying on rumors or up-to-date signs, Waze will rely on the number of accidents its users have had in a particular area to mark it as “dangerous”.
These roads will differ from the others in that they will appear colored red, so that at a glance we can know if it is better to avoid them, or if we should be more careful than usual while driving above.
This option can be disabled in the notifications section of the settings of the Waze application, in case we do not want it to constantly warn us or if we already know the dangerous paths that we are going to take. However, precisely to avoid this, Waze will not warn us every time we enter a dangerous road, especially if it is a frequent path for us; Additionally, the app will gain a traffic accident history section from which to view information.
This function is already tested in the beta version of Waze, as revealed in Geektime; however, at the moment there is no official announcement and we don’t know when it will reach the user version of the app.
