Many of us are certainly more than clear that the Shortcuts app is a real gem when it comes to going further with our devices. We’re talking about more than just quickly launching an app or flipping a photo with a simple tap, we’re talking about doing things with our iPhone or iPad that aren’t possible otherwise.
And while, as we said, surely many of us are clear about this, that is not the general picture. With this in mind, Apple itself and the developers offer us a way to jump into Shortcuts with some of the work already done
A good claim for a Shortcuts app just for us
Finding them is easy. All we have to do is open the Shortcuts application on our iPhone or iPad and, in the sidebar list on the iPad and after touching the “< Shortcuts" button on the iPhone, we look the section Application shortcuts. There we will see which applications offer us these shortcuts and check which ones they present by choosing the application that interests us. A simple press on the shortcut or the quick function will allow us to execute it, while the three-point button offers us Use in a new shortcut
After touching it, we will see that the shortcut creation interface appears. From here we can use the search engine at the bottom to add other actions before or after to achieve the automation exactly what we need. It can be connecting our VPN when you leave the house, recording a voice note and automatically sending it to someone in one step… the options are many.
It is to be hoped that these shortcut functions will gradually be extended to more and more applications. For now, if we consult this section, we will see that the Apple Voice Notes application appears, which will allow us to do our first tests. To the extent that more actions appear for the applications we use, we can create more shortcuts and more capable.
If anything, that’s a great claim for an app that actually allows us to get the most out of our devices. A good way to start knowing it with some of the work already done and to encourage us to create our first shortcut from the personalization of the applications that we use.
