Laurene married Steve Jobs in 1991, the year they also had their first child. During these years he already had a master’s degree in management and business administration, which he took advantage of to co-found a food company called Terravera.
As Jobs took Apple to new heights with Macs and iPods, so did his wife. worked at GoldMan Sachs as an intraday investment strategist. In 1997, he also founded College Track, an initiative to help systemically disadvantaged students graduate from college.

Laurene helped found various philanthropies, although she also acquired media and sports properties.
Some examples I can cite are donations to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, or the Super School Project campaign with which donated more than $50 million to build institutes
In 2017, Laurene also ventured into the press world by buying The Atlantic, and also acquired a fifth of the Monumental Sports & Entertainment business group (owner of several sports teams and the Capital One Arena in the city of Washington DC).
He currently manages his investments and donations under the umbrella of the Emerson Collective. Philanthropy is now Laurene’s main occupation, although with his investments his fortune has continued to grow. At 59, Laurene has benefited from Jobs’ heritage and knowledge and has definitely not been idle. You can follow his activity from his Twitter account, @laurenepowellalthough he hasn’t sent any of his own messages since last year.
