When Samsung released the update to One 6.1, this version of the operating system arrived with Galaxy AI, a series of artificial intelligence functions which are integrated into different corners of the Samsung Galaxy system: it allows advanced image editing, the creation of wallpapers with generative AI and adds more potential to the Internet browser, among other new features.
If your Samsung Galaxy mobile sometimes displays a gray line on the screen When you talk to someone on WhatsApp or Instagram, it’s not a system issue, but rather one of the AI features that come with Galaxy AI. There’s a very simple way to make that gray line disappear, if you prefer.
How to remove the gray line that may appear in chats when using a Samsung Galaxy
Samsung has also launched a new chat translation tool built right into the One UI keyboard. Let’s not confuse this feature with real-time call translation. The keyboard translator allows us to translate chats directly on the same WhatsApp screenInstagram and other apps.
This feature is really useful because it allows us to talk to people in other languages without having to leave the chat screen. If, for example, you are talking on WhatsApp with a hotel in another country, you will not have to leave the chat to be able to translate the conversation, everything happens on the same screen. This is undoubtedly one of my favorite features of Galaxy AI.
The chat translator can sometimes be annoying by having the shortcut permanently present on the screen.
When you turn on the translation feature, the gray line appears on the upper right edge of the screen. The problem is th at Sometimes this line can interfere with using the WhatsApp menu button
- Slide your finger along the line from the edge of the screen to the inside.
- This will display a menu that will allow us to select the language in which the mobile will translate the messages. If you have never used this function, the languages may not appear but rather the message “Tap to translate”
- So pwe press the “X”
So, the gray line will disappear and stop bothering you.
Instead, if you need to reuse the translatorYou can make it reappear by tapping the Galaxy AI button at the top of the keyboard, then selecting Chat Translator. To turn it off again, follow the steps above.
The chat translator is not available in all messaging apps, for now it can only be used in WhatsApp, Instagram direct messages and a few others, and it appears individually in each chat. If you do not remember having activated the translator, it is possible that the gray line appeared automatically if the mobile phone detected that a message was sent to you in another language in the chat, or maybe you activated it accidentally. In any case, is it possible to make the gray line disappear and only call on the translator when we really need it.
