Sharing statuses on WhatsApp is one of the most popular features of the messaging platform. They are like Instagram stories, but directly in the application that we use daily to communicate with many people, both with our friends and family and with our work colleagues. And there are states of all kinds. But many times we cannot know the status of that close friend or family member because It gets lost among the statuses of all our contacts.

WhatsApp knows this, and They are working on a solution. According to the discovery in the development version of the application, this new ranking takes into account some key aspects by giving higher priority to the stories of our contacts, including:

• Frequent contact: that is, those with which the user most often interacts, indicating a higher level of importance
• Pinned contacts– Pinning a chat also tells the app that these are more relevant contacts or conversations
• Recent Posts– Stories from contacts we recently spoke with will also have higher priority.
• States that will expire: States on the verge of extinction will also have a higher priority in the ranking

Currently, the WhatsApp status window can seem a little complicated, because on many occasions we tend to find among the first available statuses contacts with whom we have not interacted for a long time, or with whom we might even have forgotten that we had them on the agenda. The new WhatsApp system offers a ranking so as not to miss the states that may interest us the mostbeing one of those contacts we interact with the most.

This is not the only new thing WhatsApp is working on for states. The company is also working on a new editor to make it even easier to share statuses with our contacts.
