In my opinion, no matter how good Telegram is, WhatsApp is the best instant messaging app, even if other users decide to look for alternatives and have good reasons to do so. For years I have been using it as my main means of communication to keep in touch with my friends and family, although this does not mean that it is free from criticism: it can be improved in several aspects.
I just came from team Anti-audios WhatsApp, I prefer to read text rather than listen to uninterrupted minutes, that’s why I’m looking forward to something new coming. As I also configure the application every time I install it on my new Android mobile: I never forget a setting
WHATSAPP Tips and tricks to hide yourself as much as possible and preserve your PRIVACY
My cell phone is full of audio, photos and videos. This is the best solution
Over the years, it is easy for us to have been added to many WhatsApp groups: friends, family, even work. Time passes and they are still there, filling the internal memory of our mobile phone with hundreds of files, bad jokes on video, photos of different qualities and documents that could even be dangerous.
Memory full? We put our hands on our heads and resign ourselves because we have to free up space on WhatsApp. When the files we receive through this application occupy most of the internal memory, we will not be able to continue downloading those that really interest us.
This is why I have always opted for configure whatsapp so that it doesn’t download anything automatically: only what I want is downloaded. How can we achieve this if, when a photo arrives, our mobile phone has already tried to download it? WhatsApp settings allow you to cus tomize the experience using the app.
This includes what I mentioned at the beginning and addresses the widespread doubt about what to do to keep whatsapp downloads at bay. Now I’ll show you how to do it:
- Open WhatsApp on your Android mobile. Tap the three-dot menu located at the top right of the screen.
- Among the options you will see displayed, click on “Settings”.
- Go to the “Storage and Data” section.
- At the bottom of the screen you will see the section “Automatic download”– Go to each connection-based setting, setting all three to “No Files”. To do this, simply uncheck the boxes that appear.
From now on, no matter how many files our contacts share, until we tap on them in the chat, they will not occupy space in our mobile memory. For me, This is an essential adjustment which I apply every time I change phones or when I do a factory reset and have to install WhatsApp from scratch.
