WhatsApp continues to work on new functions to integrate into its application and this new feature will be ideal for watching videos
A long-awaited new improvement is about to come to WhatsApp. As revealed WABetaInfothe latest beta version of WhatsApp group for iPhone includes a new feature that will allow us to see the videos that they send us in a floating window. This PiP, or picture-in-picture, feature is already enabled in WhatsApp for YouTube videos or video calls.
WhatsApp improves the video player integrated into the application and this function already tested in version 24.7.10.73 of the beta for iOS has this objective. In this way we can exit the video and reply in other chats while the video continues playing in a floating window

WhatsApp for iOS 24.6.77 update implemented a feature that lets you quickly skip videos by double-tapping the edge of a video, improve navigation and provide greater control over video playback. And this improvement will be complemented by the possibility of watching videos in PiP.

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is currently introducing the ability to watch videos while browsing different chats or sections of the app, which will be released for a future update of the application. Although the picture-in-picture feature is already available when viewing YouTube and Instagram videos shared on WhatsApp, it is currently not available for videos shared directly within the app.
Keep in mind that, as with YouTube or Instagram videos sent on WhatsApp, PiP will work as long as we remain in the application. That’s to say, If we leave WhatsApp, the video will stop playing
