WhatsApp tests a new design in its voicemail messages in its beta for iOS

Voice messages with audio waves in WhatsApp

It seems that from WhatsApp they are pressing the accelerator for the end of the year. Dozens of small updates and new features are tested in the beta version of the app for iOS and Android. A few weeks ago, the sticker maker launched on WhatsApp web and a new design when recording voicemail messages on iOS. This same design based on the appearance of sound waves according to our voice message

now comes to the reproduction of these messages in a new interface that WhatsApp is testing in its beta for iOS.

The new design integrated a few weeks ago revealed a spectrum of sound waves simultaneously while recording a voicemail message. These waves moved according to our tone of voice. However, It looks like WhatsApp wants to bring this same design based on moving waves to the reproduction of all audio messages.

This feature was already tested by WhatsApp six months ago, but has been removed in the next beta. However, the arrival of the beta 2.21.240.18

via TestFlight for iOS brought back the sound waves in playing voice messages.

WhatsApp launches sticker maker in web version

As you can see from the image at the top of the article, the new interface eliminates the solid line we currently have when playing back a voicemail message. It is therefore modified by a dynamic sound wave that matches the tone of the message we are reproducing. According to WABetaInfo, even with the beta installed, this new interface does not always appear. It only appears when the other person has the beta and has the feature active. We’ll see if WhatsApp finally releases the change globally or if it’s just testing to keep moving forward in the development of new features for the app.
