What if we wanted to change the colors of the interface? The only way was to risk account closure by using modified apps like WhatsApp Plus. It’s over.
Multiple colors to choose from so you can put your WhatsApp the way you want
I had already been able to test the choice of themes thanks to the beta code of WhatsApp for Android, but until now they did not appear by default in my account nor did they remain activated when the application was restarted. This has changed: after updating to the latest version, the number 2.24.21.34The theme setting appeared.
As we already knew, themes allow you to change the tone of WhatsApp bubbles in conversations, both in private and group chats. The new setting also lets you customize the background color and intensity. apply a wallpaper that matches the appearance of the theme. Everything so that no two apps are the same, the themes go much further than the custom backgrounds we had until now.
How to use WhatsApp themes
To access the themes it is necessary to have the beta version of Android and a WhatsApp account have permission to access news. The customization setup process is as follows:
- Make sure you have the latest WhatsApp beta installed. If you are not in the testing program, you can download the APK from APK Mirror.
- Open WhatsApp Settings with the top three menu items that appear in the chat window.
- Go to “Discussions”.
- If the new feature is active for your account, you will see that two theme options appear: the one at the top, which was present until now, and the one at the bottom, the new one. It’s called “Default Chat Theme”. Click here.
- You will see that you have the choice between 22 shades, including the one provided by default. You can choose any of them.
- When selecting a theme, you can change the hue with the bottom right icon (sun) and the color with the bottom left icon (circle). Adjust the theme to your needs.
- Alternatively, you can cycle through all the preset themes by moving the screen sideways.
- Once everything is ready, accept with the green button above. The theme will be applied to all discussions.
You can change the theme as many times as you want and choose if you want to change the background you have with that of the theme itself. Of course, at the moment all themes apply completely to the app, you can’t choose cat by cat. This is likely something WhatsApp will incorporate in the future.
Themes apply to all WhatsApp conversations, you cannot adjust the chat theme per chat. Color changes in bubbles only affect your messages
With the new themes, the appearance of WhatsApp can completely change, adapting to the user’s tastes. Do you want it to be purple and clear? You choose. Or dark, blue… The fact that there are options to choose from is always great news.
