WhatsApp trick to hide the images that a contact sends you: you can make them secret

In Europe, WhatsApp has gone from being an application used to talk to friends and family, replacing SMS, to the default communication tool. It is no longer strange to contact someone for work reasons with this application. That is why the application includes new functions to allow these uses.

One of them is the ability to hide certain, more private, conversations from anyone who answers our cell phone. This is important if we do not live alone or if our child usually picks up the phone to entertain himself. However, there was a problem: The images and videos we received there could be viewed with other applications,

This is why Meta has developed a function to be able to choose which cats will keep their images hidden to other applications installed on the smartphone. It is enough to activate a function, somewhat hidden, in each of the chats that we do not want the photos to show.

This is a completely reversible option and can be configured by clicking on the avatar of the person whose images you want to hide. When your profile picture opens, you must click on the information icon in the lower right corner. A new window will open in which you should look for a section called Media Visibility.

There are three options: Yes, no and default. There we can make the images and videos received in this chat invisible in Google Photos or any other application we use to view videos and photos. If we change our mind, we can always perform the same procedure to make these images visible again.

It should be remembered that it is also possible to create your own secret chats, in case, in addition to images, their content is sensitive. To do this, we must hold down a chat and restrict it by clicking on the button located at the top right. Once locked, you enter it to go to the blocked discussions area. In Settings, the option is enabled Hide blocked discussions. Finally, you have to click on Create a secret code to go through the two screens to confirm the code. As a security measure, it is possible to use an emoji in the password, which will make it much more secure.
